Posted 23 Dec 2006 by old_user98944 Post: Thanks, Apparently, the client has send its result every time I updated the project. I didn\'t put the trickles in the result in my account and in the messages for about a week. Now, the client actually mentions the trickles, before it didn\'t. It seems to have be related to a server update of the account with the trickles. [quote]I notice that the server hasn\'t heard from your computer since you were sent a model back in May.[quote/] According to my account info, both results were created in December. I have read the info. All clear. |

Posted 22 Dec 2006 by old_user98944 Post: Hi, My account is http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?hostid=511140 I changed the global preferences file to force Boinc to recognize the 2 cpu\'s. The firewall is open to Boinc.exe and Boincmgr.exe. Still, after work results of 2,67% and 1,06%, I never get the message \"Reason: To send trickle-up message\". Also in my results, it says \"no trickles\", although it should give me a trickle message about every 5 hours. Can anyone tell me whether the preferences are wrong ? <global_preferences> <source_project>http://climateprediction.net/</source_project> <source_scheduler>http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi</source_scheduler> <run_if_user_active/> <idle_time_to_run>3</idle_time_to_run> <cpu_scheduling_period_minutes>120</cpu_scheduling_period_minutes> <work_buf_min_days>0.1</work_buf_min_days> <max_cpus>2</max_cpus> <cpu_usage_limit>90</cpu_usage_limit> <disk_interval>60</disk_interval> <disk_max_used_gb>10</disk_max_used_gb> <leave_apps_in_memory>1</leave_apps_in_memory> <disk_max_used_pct>75</disk_max_used_pct> <disk_min_free_gb>0.1</disk_min_free_gb> <vm_max_used_pct>75</vm_max_used_pct> <max_bytes_sec_down>0</max_bytes_sec_down> <max_bytes_sec_up>0</max_bytes_sec_up> </global_preferences> The messages I get when starting up : 22/12/2006 19:21:32||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86 22/12/2006 19:21:32||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3 22/12/2006 19:21:32||Data directory: C:\\Downloads\\BOINC 22/12/2006 19:21:32||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 22/12/2006 19:21:32||Memory: 1023.04 MB physical, 2.40 GB virtual 22/12/2006 19:21:32||Disk: 149.04 GB total, 110.33 GB free 22/12/2006 19:21:32|climateprediction.net|Computer ID: 511140; location: ; project prefs: default 22/12/2006 19:21:32||General prefs: from climateprediction.net (last modified 1970-01-01 01:00:00) 22/12/2006 19:21:32||General prefs: using your defaults 22/12/2006 19:21:33||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address 22/12/2006 19:21:34|climateprediction.net|Resuming computation for result hadcm3ohe_1iqu_05719288_0 using hadcm3 version 515 22/12/2006 19:21:36|climateprediction.net|Resuming computation for result hadcm3ohe_1cxs_05711762_1 using hadcm3 version 515 22/12/2006 19:21:36||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted. 22/12/2006 19:21:36||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted. |

benchmarks not correct
(Message 25633)
Posted 16 Dec 2006 by old_user98944 Post: Thanks, no, I have put the value \"On multiprocessors, use at most\" at 2 on the \"your account\" page and updated the project now more than a dozen times. I want that second cpu to work on a project but still I get the message \"Note: not requesting new work or reporting results\". The 3rd button on the project tabsheet shows \"no new work\" so I guess the client should fetch new work. But if the benchmark only finds one cpu, I guess the client is not going to ask the server for more. |

Partial results usefull ?
(Message 16141)
Posted 20 Sep 2005 by old_user98944 Post: Thanks for the reply. My PC (amd 3200) has about 5,5 hours every day on average to process the sulphur model. That\'s 500 hours before the enddate 16/2/2006. The completion time is 1300 hours. There is perhaps some use from completed phases, but if you cannot finish a model, I would suggest a different project. Crandles, do you mean uncompleted phases ? If the deadline isn\'t important I can continue the sulphur model rather then aborting it. The cpu/memory/hd is very stable. Sometimes the adsl is being put offline but that is no problem for Boinc. |

Posted 20 Sep 2005 by old_user98944 Post: A newbie question : If my PC can\'t finish a whole run (1300 hours), are the trickled results still usefull or should I change Boinc to do some other task ? I\'m sure it is somewhere in the faq\'s and other threads but I didn\'t find a conclusive answer. |
