I am in it for the science so I am going to let it run. It is frustrating to see all that work time gone by the way side. |

Power Outage now WU all messed up.
(Message 17095)
Posted 9 Nov 2005 by old_user90851 Post: I had a pwr. outage the other day, and when I restarted the computer and CPDN, it appeared that all the work was lost. I had about 68% done at 280hrs. (To complete a WU on this computer takes about 455:00) It showed no cpu time and still 280:00, I have let it run for several days now, and it appears that it is starting all over again. It is now at 10% and 325:00. I have checked my file and it shows the last update as the 5th. of Nov. and I have tried many times to update since then. Any suggestions. |

Power Outage, messed up my results.
(Message 17005)
Posted 6 Nov 2005 by old_user90851 Post: I live in the country and we just had a power outage, I am on battery backup, however it didn\'t do a soft shutdown as it was supposed to. Now when I restarted the computer and BOINC my WU is all messed up. It shows 281:00 hr \"CPU Time\", 0.68% \"Progress\" and 41375:04 hr. \"To completion\". The CPU Time is correct, however the Progress is way out, it should be around 68.0%. What if anything can I do to fix this issue. or should I just \"Reset the Project\" Are all those hours and data lost.? |

(Message 16005)
Posted 14 Sep 2005 by old_user90851 Post: I just did a complete uninstall and reinstall of BOINC. All is well with the download now, however I have a WU Sulfur_cycle 4.21 and I have a \"Computation error\" msg. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.? Don\'t seem to see any info on the BOINC website, relating to this. Is this serious, and is there a fix, or do I just Abort this WU.? |

Still problems with Linux upload/dwnload.?
(Message 15959)
Posted 13 Sep 2005 by old_user90851 Post: I am still having problems with my linux computer uploading/dwnloading, CPDN/Seti. I have done a ping on both with CPDN returning 100% packet loss. Seti seems to work fine. Yet when I try to update either on the Linux box, I get \"Master file fetch failed.\" Now I have recently had to use a static IP address from my ISP, as there were some problems with the dial-up. Yet the Windows box was fine, can\'t figure that out.!! The Linux box did do fine with both CPDN/Seti until a few weeks ago. I have looked at my results at CPDN and it looks like the only results I am getting back are from the Windows box. (Phase 1) The Linux is now doing (Phase 3) I could really use some help with this, I have tried all that I can think of, and am now at a loss as to what to try next. Maybe I have to start again by uninstalling BOINC on the Linux box and do a fresh install. Any thoughts. |

Posted 5 Sep 2005 by old_user90851 Post: I have a GNU/Linux computer with CPDN and Seti (BOINC) on it and just got a Windows machine on which I have CPDN, Seti and LHC. When I try to do my uploads and dwnloads I get different msg. from both computers. On the windows it will do an update yet on the Linux I get \"Master File Fetch Failed\" Is this just related to the problems of the last week with both Seti and CPDN, or my other question is, can I have the same program running on multiple machines, without any problems.? I have done several reboots, no change. |

Data run time.?
(Message 15125)
Posted 15 Aug 2005 by old_user90851 Post: I am new to the CPDN project. I have downloaded data to be processed, and after about 203:00hrs I got a 100% completed, then after connecting to the net (dial-up) it now gives me 7.95%, hrs. to completion as 2612:00. The unit I am working on is (hadsm 3.4.13) tmh_200200151_0 Can anyone explain to me why this is so. I am used to classic seti where when 100% is done then you get a new work unit, and start again. |
