Seems the same as before, can't handle stop-restarts, so I aborted it: http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=17516381

Well it is a BOINC project right?

There are many interesting models coming up but with this ignorance from the staff I could just drop the little single core I still run.

My team wants help on other projects.

Not an upload problem but Downloading of the new hadam3prm3pm2t_eu.

Something is funky on the server, boinc client can't find them.

Huh? Problems getting acquaintances to start crunching. Huh?
I just use the facts that climate research is being under-funded for political reasons, there's not much money and it all has to go to the research, not some dippity points thing like frequent flier miles but with zero value.

Huh?

And I've recruited a few over the years.

Oh, I've been running a lot in beta for the last year on my little single linux box without any credit.

Lot's have happened lately with new clients but it would have been much better if people with many Linux boxen haven't been so lazy but chimed in to test ;-)

Carl would have fixed this at once.

It's rather embarrassing when trying to recruit new users and and having to explain this.

Oh nice:-) I've been running climate models for Kiribati for many years. The islands are endangered by rising sea levels and they have the most beautiful flag :-)

This kind of wu should not be stopped!
The wu works fine and is going to finish without any interruption.
But if you want to do backups and after that resume, it resolves in wu errors...

Oh, it should be stopped, doesn't work properly.

20000 new ones on the server

yikes!

Hey Hannah!

Maybe you can answer what these new kind of models called "UK Met Office HadCM3 short" are?

Some part of Geoengineering or what?

New batch of about 20000 workunits was just released!

Cheers
Melvyn

I wonder what this is all about, no info on the main page or beta and no graphics.

I've done a couple of these 2-year runs on a Linux box. They have 2 trickles but only one is shown on the task page, also 2 big yearly .zips.

It runs much slower (in Linux anyway) than hadcm3n_6.07; 0.88 s/Ts compared to 0.58 on the same setup, 66% slower.

Saw that the credit script had been running again and gave these ones 311 points, same as 6.07 for one trickle.
This has to be rectified for slowness
and only 1 trickle counted.

Yeah, I ran these fine on beta but trickles and credits stopped working sometime in March so I didn't know about these faulty things, well well..

Looking at the ones that have completed through 10 years, success or error, they seem to be in work units issued on April 17th or before.

Tasks from those work units issued April 19th or later, can't seem to make it to the first trickle in the 10h year no matter what.

Oh, my WU 8861247 was issued April 19 and earlier crashed in the last year, but that was on a Mac;
Model crashed:
Sorry, too many model crashes! :-(
error: zipfile probably corrupt (segmentation violation)

Nice to see some completing successfully.

But I wonder about the long list in stderr output:
oa.pc|xxxx.nc
and
oa.pe|xxxx.nc
for every month

OK? don't know what that is, was the same in beta test.

Just started a resended one here but don't want to run it in wain if they are not good.

The progress bar in Boinc is calculated for a 120 year run, blah

My i5 3570k @4.4gig (normal I guess) ran a ten year model 7.02 in the beta site and took 5 days to complete.
The newer version 7.03 runs at the same speed, and I have a finished 2 year beta test that took 22h to run (beta site crapped out)

A problem in beta tests with 7.02 was stop/restart, monthly zips were never built when stopping/restarting. Try that.

I guess this is apid-wattch thing is a linux problem.
Saw the same thing back in february in cpdnbeta when attaching a new box with 3.5 linux kernel, upload servers stanford and cpdnbeta got misspelled as staanford and pdnbeta in client-state.xml, also got apid in classic.
Got tired of it and reinstalled old ubuntu10 with 2.6 kernel and all was fine.
Then in july tried lubuntu 13.04 with 3.8 kernel and it was 23% faster! in hadcmn.6.07 but with the same apid crap, then tried to edit the client-state.xml to rapid-watch on all four lines for every task and it works :-)
Me thought the speedup was due to the light desktop in lubuntu but then newly installed linuxmint-15 and it's the same nice speed, yuipee! On par with windows now?
This is with boinc 6.4-6.10.58, higher got problems with libraries, don't like symbolic links and i am lazy, heh

Edit: this is only one box i sit and edit the client-state.xml in and don't bother much but it surely should be fixed if others have problems too
