In their wisdom, the folks who set up these boards made allowance for questions concerning the crunching of CPDN work units, credit allocation, etc., etc. They also set up a board for discussions of the SCIENTIFIC aspects of the project. It would be very helpful to make use of the appropriate boards for the pertinent discussions.

If you are looking for a team that specializes in highly erudite discussion of scientific and philosophical subjects, we\'re not it. However if you are looking for a group of good friends you haven\'t met yet, if you enjoy good humor (or humour) and whether or not you are a \"stat whore\", may I invite you to consider The Final
Front Ear?
We promise to be irreverant, illogical, and some might say ill mentally.

<b>Mother Nature has once again demonstrated the helplessness of people in the face of nature. If you are planning to offer aid, and I hope you are, please be careful. The best help we can offer is money. Contribute through known and trusted agencies such as the Red Cross, Oxfam, Salvation Army, etc. There are already scammers out on the Net. Hold a good thought for the folks who have been rendered homeless and destitute by Katrina. </b>

Actually, I'm not a gentlemen, I work for a living. (Anyway I used to. Now I'm a kept man.) I've plied many trades through the years. Which one in particular did you have in mind? You do have a mind don't you?

<b>I believe that one must be beholden to one's neighbor without the reward of heaven...or the fear of hellfire."</b> Hezekiah Jones

I just want to point out that millions of our fellowpersons are now suffering the greatest privation and heartache due to the latest demonstration of nature's complete indifference to our species. And while nature <i>can</i> afford to be indifferent surely we cannot.

It would behoove all of us to reach into our generally overburdened pockets and make a cash donation to one of the NGO's struggling to deal with this catastrophe. Money is desperately needed to procure and transport needed supplies of food, clothing and medicine to the affected countries.

Among the organizations needing help are; Save the Children, Oxfam, Doctors Without Borders, the Red Cross and Red Crescent. You may know of others equally deserving of assistance. If you have already made a contribution you've done a good deed. If you have not, shame on you.

One last note. I don't feel it is necessary to respond to this post. If you agree with it act accordingly. If you do not, don't tell me about it because I couldn't care less.

Your Fellow Human Being

I\'ve noticed that Café CPDN has become an annex of the other boards, so I thought I would offer an antidote to all the serious crabbing and cheering. Here is something that ought to give you a laugh. Enjoy. (Oh, there is a split second or two of, shall we say, S*X so prudes be warned.)

Well, as long as we are doing commercials, let me inject a note of happy frivolity. If you are serious, committed, statistically minded <b>DONT</b> join The Final Front Ear. On the other hand (by the way what <i>is</i> the other hand?)if you are feeling frivolous, need to be committed or mathematically challenged, I invite you to check out TFFE. There, I said it and I'm glad.
