If my math is correct then the moon is moving away about 1.5 inches a year, which is 3.81 cm. I am not talking about the tidal effects of the moon but the actual slowing of the planet's rotation by the braking effect that the moon has on the planet earth.

Planet's rotation each year is slowed just a little bit, that means there is more time in the sunlight or in darkness. The moon's gravitational force as it moves away will be more of threat to climate than anything else. But people seem not to worry because they will not be here.

There are two external solar bodies that have a large effect on our climate, the Sun and the moon. In all the information that I have read on this web site, there is no mention of the moon. Specifically, the effect of gravitational force of the pull of the moon as it moves away from the earth causing a braking of the earths rotation. If this calculation is not part of the mathematics that is use by climateprediction.net, then it needs to be.

Most would say that it does move that much, but when a mass that large moves any distance it has effect.

Would having two other computers that the message logs on each states they are using home pereferences instead of work (12708), school(70765), 84992 is home. I already reboot. The error above started to occur yesterday after it uploaded trickles.

I'm also running Seti at home for Boinc. It is downloading and running just fine.

Under the work tab it has:

climateprediction.net/hasdm3 4.03/04h6_100030796_0/---/0.00%/364:39:09/2005-08-15 13:22:41/ ready to run

Now how do i get this to run?

9/2/2004 8:24

I just check my XPpro sp2 Box The program is running on it after a reset it downloaded and then preempted Seti@home 4.03

My preferences allows apps to run while system is busy. XP Home Sp2 box, I do have Seti running and as we speak, maybe after the first file is done I see the second file get preempted .

I shall let you know

9/2/2004 9:01

The Seti file finished but the second one was not preempted. Both XP systems are setup the same way. I'll wait and see what happens in 4 min. to see if hadsm3 4.03 starts to run.

Will keep you posted.

10:41 A.M 10:42

Both Systems are now running both Seti and hadsm3 4.03 The second file wasn't prempted until it was 65.50% done.

thanks all

I will take it that both of my machines didn't recieve the eof transmission. Or you are actually are sending garbage.

Rsetting Project doesn't work I've done so many times.

Seti@home part of Boinc works fine!

adjustments to the firewall and router to allow redirects doesn't fix the problem
