I don't have much knowledge of Linux, yet, so could you tell me, how do I close BOINC, without using: ps aux | grep boinc then finding hasdsm or boinc and then kill "number" That's the only way I know right now, and I guess that it would also force it to stop right away? |

Predictor restarted
(Message 7162)
Posted 4 Jan 2005 by old_user7639 Post: HI There, I have just made a post, but it seemed to dissapear..(Ups, found out that it was still there) I have been working 171 hours on a package, and it was 20.000 steps in Phase 2. After and upgrade of Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1, Windows Media Player 10 and Samlet opdatering til Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB887797) the client restarted, and is now working in phase 1. before it took 2.19 s/step, now it takes about 750 s/step... Can anyone explain why? ClimatePrediction still takes up 237 mb space on my computer, so I guess the files are not deleted... Before it was on 33 %, now it's on 0.11 %.... Why??? Bent |

After an upgrade of Direct X, and a restart, Climateprediction also suddenly restarts on phase 1, and when it before was 2.19 s/step, now it's 960 s/steps... Can anyone explain why? Because this really sucks... Bent |

Crunch a little faster?

Posted 29 Dec 2004 by old_user7639 Post: Hi there, I have a Laptop with a pentium 4 2.8 ghz mobile CPU... I have seen that people with the same CPU, just not mobile, are able to crunch way more work than I do. Does any one know if that is because mine is a mobile CPU, and does anyone know if it's possible for me to get it crunch a little faster? Cheers, Bent |
