Post:
There's a News item about the problem, based on an email from Andy.

I guess the redirect was successful. My transfers cache is cleared now. No zips awaiting upload.

zips are 100% uploaded but stuck in BOINC Manager's "Transfers" screen and the event log says:

Yep, seems back on track. Thanks, Les.

Yeah i'm having the same issue. I got 2 wus that won't download; they just keep backing off.
Seems that we can"t connect to the download server but Server Status says its 'running'.

The credit script is only running once a week at the weekend now so some time on Sunday you should see credit.

Ah ok. Thanks Dave.

Yep, seems that my trickles are now posting. Still not seeing any partial credit though. And i have a fully completed HadAM3P task (link below) that shows no credit claimed or granted.

Yup, similar problems here.

The trickles were missing a week or two back, and then appeared "recently". Along with a BOINCstats update.
And they now seem to be missing again, in the last couple of days.

There are some comments about this in other threads.

Ok, just making sure it wasn't an issue on my end.

I noticed that my RAC had dropped drastically so i checked out my 'tasks' page and it seems that my credit has disappeared for partially completed wus. I know i had credit for these wus before the server outage and i know that the trickles were uploaded, but now they're missing. I have multiple tasks running and trickles should have been uploaded already (in some cases i know they were uploaded) but my tasks page says i haven't even started them yet. I have no uploads pending in BOINC manager so they must have disappeared during the server maintenance.
For example:
task 19646396 is 61% done and shows only 2 trickles uploaded
http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=19646396
task is 19747533 is 31% done and shows no trickles uploaded
http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=19747533

The task directly above (19747533) should show at least 1 trickle because:

Are others having the same problems or is it just me?

Another thing about graphics (apart from detecting faulty parameters described above) is that they might help attract new crunchers to the project.

Just my humble opinion...

Workunit 10114084 still running and upto 8.731% with no problems yet, trickle sent.
My other laptop has Workunits 10115351 and 10115880 running, both up to about 2.9%. No trickles sent from those ones yet.

Seems to have just been the first couple workunits that had the zip problem. But there's still a lot of data to be crunched yet.

EDIT: I spoke too soon... zip error on workunit 10115880. Must have been been at about 3%. I still got 2 wah2 jobs on that laptop, i have a feeling they will err too. But i'll keep them running to see what happens.

We can't see your computer names. so we'll have to guess which is which. But I see that all computers on your account have been upgraded to Windows 10 - this might possibly be significant. The project staff are going to check in the morning whether there is a significant correlation across the database between running Windows 10 and these new task failures.

I didn't have any failures over night. Got one task on the AMD laptop running at 3.368% and 1 task of the Intel laptop running at 1.822%.
I think the failures yesterday all happened below 2% completion.

Just got another failure on my older laptop. That is 2 failed tasks on that laptop (computer name "Andy") and 1 fail so far on the new laptop ("Beats").
Seems to be a problem with the zip file each time.
Watching a movie on Beats right now so task is suspended at 1.189% for now.

Downloaded 3 more tasks on Andy and 2 of them are running. We'll see how they go...

First wah task on each of my pcs erred. Is this normal for these tasks? I do have a wah task on each pc that seems to be running alright for now but it was weird that each original task failed on each computer.

I remember when i first joined the project we would have a lot of errors because the models weren't accurate. Is that what is happening with these wah tasks or is it my PCs or settings that are screwed up?

NOTE: i'm just talking about the wah tasks. The errors on my tasks page from last month are from a bad BOINC installation on the new PC and interrupted tasks from BOINC upgrade on the old PC.
17) Message boards : Number crunching : HadCM3s post-completion artifacts (Message 52409)
Posted 11 Aug 2015 by Andrew Sanchez
Post:
There are a lot of files that are reusable.

The folders (with files), that can be deleted, are the folders for the models. These will have a 4 letter code name, similar to those that are currently running.
They're mostly the hadcm3s models, and any of any type that crash.

Note down the 4 letter code of all running models, and delete those that aren't among them.

Sorry, maybe i wasn't clear. The file types i named all have the model codes like you posted. There are usually a couple files/folders associated with each model a "Compressed (Zipped)" a "Application" and sometimes an "XML file".
For instance, for a single completed task i have
Name: hadam3p_pnw_data_7.27_windows_intelx86 Type: Compressed (zipped) folder
Name: hadam3p_pnw_se_7.27_windows_intelx86 Type: Compressed (zipped) folder
Name: hadam3p_pnw_um_7.27_windows_intelx86 Type: Application

Notice that one is a pnw_DATA_7.27, one is pnw_SE_7.27, and the last is pnw_UM_7.27.
Can all of those be deleted as long as the task has been completed?

This is a known problem. Some of the hadCM3s dont clean up after themselves even when they finish normally. There is nothing to do about it except check the ProgramData folder occasionally for left-overs and clean them out.

I hadn't heard about this until this thread. Which file types are ok to delete?
I'm seeing a couple "Compressed (zipped) Folder" and "Application" files for each task that has already been completed. Can i delete both of those for each completed task? Or are they kinda like cookies that i may need later if i run another task from that batch?

Has anyone else noticed that the models seem to be taking about twice as long to run with Windows 10 as they did with Win7. Hadcm3s WUs that took about 43 hours to complete running Win7, seem to be taking about 90 hours under Win10 on the same machine.

I had Win8.1 before i did the Win10 upgrade and i haven't noticed any change in run time. I even had tasks that were mid-way through completion when i did the upgrade and they carried over and completed without errors or complications. I noticed no difference in their progress or run times.
But again, that was going from 8.1 to 10...

You just missed a batch of Pacific Northwest tasks and some short runs.
I took a break for a bit too and had to wait a couple weeks before they released more batches. I'm sure it won't be too long before they put out some more.
