Get a UK VPN or any other VPN that will let you look British to the CPDN servers.

I heartily recommend VirtualBox. Using VB you can create a 32bit Ubuntu guest OS and then run all the Linux work units without trouble. I have run CPDN that way in Windows and also in 64bit Ubuntu.

You have done 106,628 timesteps and a completed task runs to 348,548 timesteps, so you have done just over thirty procent.

I downloaded a number of these and now I notice they are marked "No resubmission". Should I abort all of them, even those that are currently running?

Some of my hadam3pm2 wu's have had interruptions and I guess that's why they finish with an error of zip files being absent. Are these wu's still useful for something or could they just as well have been aborted?

Looks like the WCG have dropped the climate research. I can find no such information on their site. Maybe it got too hot?

I still wonder about the credits. I feel that me and my computers have reached much too lofty heights among the Top Participants. Sixth place!

World Community Grid are getting into climate research and they promise "up to 100,000 years of computing time". How much is that when compared to what we are doing here at CPDN?

This one has an estimated run-time of 259 hours. Much better than 1800 hours!

"These MOSES cannot recover from any stop-restart - any stop, any restart - "

That's good to know. I have now shut off all updates to my two little Linux computers. They run on battery-backed 12VDC, so are hopefully safe from power glitches. I was going to rearrange my computer nook but that will now have to wait for three or four weeks.

I ran CPDN on 32-bit (not 64-bit!) Ubuntu in a VirtualBox session and it worked right out of the box. No problems at all.
18) Message boards : Number crunching : Aborting an orphaned WU (Message 48540)

Im experimenting to see what my new little motherboard can do and when I did a reinstall I forgot to abort a running WU. Is there any way to abort it now? It feels wasteful to wait until March 2015 for it to be reissued.

The now deleted VirtualBox computer is http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?hostid=1321713

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-J1900N-D3V http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4918&dl=#ov
