1) Message boards : Number crunching : Trickles update hanging/delayed again? (Message 12485)

I, too, am getting the "http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi failed" message.

Given that I am crunching a bunch of other projects along with climate predictor, is there any reason (beside my ignorance how to do it :) ) to disable BOINC network access?

Also, I want to second the "THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK" being offered to Carl and all the others who are working so diligently on this endeavor!

> the Switzerland server (phkup21.unibe.ch) is still down, so that is probably
> what the problem is. Hopefully it will be back up soon (it's out of our
> control).
>
I, too, have a 100% WU and 5 zip files that won't upload. This WU completed on Wednesday and today (Monday) it's still not up-loaded. However, on Saturday I had another WU complete on another machine and it uploaded as did its zip files...or, at least I guess they uploaded because they are nowhere to be found on the "Transfers" tab of BOINC. Is the Switzerland serve accepting up-loads of some WUs and not others or is the issue somehow different?

Thanks in advance.

4) Message boards : Number crunching : Installing new CPU (Message 5440)

> Just in case the comp would be recognized as a different one, you can click on
> "merge computers", so no problem at all. But just a CPU upgrade won´t change
> anything in that aspect.
>
In fact, I just up-graded my entire computer and switched from a 2.2 Ghz chip to a HT 3.6 Ghz chip. I copied my old hard drive to my new hard drive, and then copied the Boinc folder to its place in the program folder. I downloaded the newest version of Boinc and the thing worked! It picked up my old WUs from SETI, LHC, and CPDN and started happily crunching away. So, I have to think that a "mere" CPU change won't have an adverse effect.

Good luck.

Mark
