There are extensive discussions about this program on the php board, including links to sites such as RealClimate.org

Basically, it seems that the channel that produced the program, and the producer of the program itself, seem to be anti-climate change, and the program was full of flaws.
One link was to info about the producer, and says that he is a known Marxist, who is trying to destroy the business economy of countries such as the UK (I forget how it was put exactly, but much better than this), by preventing anything being done to stop the effects of global warming, and hence destroy the food supplies, etc.

Ah OK I will take a look.
Interesting about the Marxist reference you passed on there. Hey the programme said the climate change lobby was made up of failed communists who could not prevent the spread of globalisation through politics so they have taken over the green lobby to prevent it through reducing industrialisation to save CO2 outputs! That was the gist at least. Strange world is it not. Thanks for the pointer.

I still hope a scientist comes though to set out the merits of the approach for this project. Should be fascinating.

Hi.
Please don\'t kill me.

I saw a programme here in the UK about 10 days ago which cast some doubt on the importance of CO2 to global warming. There seemed to be a few non aligned experts supporting the view that sun spot activity over several tens of thousands of years correlated very closely (almost exactly) with global warming. The suggestion being that it is this that is actually behind the earths temperature and not CO2.

In a statistical sense this looked pretty convincing.

Can the scientists here say what they think of this solar activity theory/work and the position those experts took please? They seemed sceptical (indeed critical) of models that varied CO2 emissions because they would always say increased CO2 is bad - I guess the model we use here is in that category so its an important scientific view I seek I think.

Hey and apologies if this question has been asked before.

Thx

I\'ve posted it here as an announcement and here as a sticky.

Hope you don\'t mind the comment I\'ve added to make the link to the recent interview more obvious.

And here are some pics of the pan-galactic workshop in Geneva mentioned in the interview, from Rom Walton\'s blog. Carl and Tolu are in several photos....

Hey thanks for doing that for me. Your comment is fine by me.

Here is a joint interview with two people who drive forward BOINC and project development. Perhaps the SETI parts will not be of interest but the BOINC component should be. Give it a try at and listen to what was said. This is available as a MP3 and podCast.

If you have a desire to join an interactive online discussion with some of the people behind BOINC then check out this event! Your chance to join in

If you were to have the opportunity to take part in a live on-line question & answer session with Dr David Anderson & others, would you like to take part ?

You would ?

Well. BOINC UK and Team Lookers have arranged exactly that with Dr Anderson & colleagues. A live, on-line question & answer session where YOU get the chance to put your questions to them.

As you will agree, this is a unique opportunity which has not been available before.

For your chance to be on the live panel of BOINC participants you need to register here. This page also contains the conditions of eligibility. The panel has a limited number of places so you must register to be eligible for the draw. Your email addresses will not be released to any third party under any circumstances.

The session will also be released as a podcast and mp3.

If a mod could sticky this it would be appreciated. Thanks

I made a DVD-RAM full of those, afterwards I deleted the Model Directories on the respective Systems.
(which is Optional, technically one could deleted the Model Directories (named after the Model, e.g. \"2qh4_100148913\") right after they are finished and reported)

Hey FalconFly thanks for that advice. I will delete the model folders.
