Les,

It has been a few more years and there are still just under 20,000 invisible and probably old tasks hanging around ... Based on Active applications and tasks in progress vs total tasks in progress from the Server Status page ....

Can you bump an email to Glenn Carver and see what he thinks ?

Thank you

The Server Status page shows 52271 Tasks in progress but if I add the Tasks by Application at the bottom of the page that totals to 32344. The difference is 19,927 invisible Tasks ... ???

Suggestions anyone ?

Well since the powers above fixed Credit Export on September 08 credits have been exported daily not weekly. AND they have been consistent.

Our Thanks and congratulations for a Fix and upgrade all rolled into one.

Well it has been I think 7 days. Is the script going to be set to run once a week again now that we are back up and running on Credit ?

Thanks

Unless CPDN is exporting to a different location the time stamps above show that CPDN is not exporting Credit Stat's Daily or even Weekly. Most Projects Export Daily and the information contained is updated on a time line set up by those who write the Scripts.

Correct. My guess is that it wont be started again till the issue with stats having doubled is resolved.

Dave it has been another six weeks and we are now past 114 days without an export of stat's. I know that you have suspected that everything is hinging on the internal credit problem and it may be. But the amount of time that has passed is getting a little silly and is now someone should be slightly embarrassed.

Richard thank you for your diligence in researching the history and issues involved in our credit scheme. I can only imagine as each piece unfolded you were wondering "and what else will we find". You and Glenn make a pretty darn good team and now have the Creds as a can do pair.

Once they turn export on there may be questions but your thought pattern is solid.

Thank you again

I see you have a total credit of 15,539,788 - how does that compare with the figure before the server move?

Total credit was about 8,000,000 on 25th May. RAC was about 68,000 on 23rd, yesterday dropped to just under 5,000 then a slight increase today. On second thoughts, maybe that is just the script for RAC running again.

Dave

My account is showing total credit and average credit both increasing reflecting the Trickles that a couple of tasks are generating. But externally we are still not seeing any Export data. Is that what Richard is working on now ?

Well my slowest machine after 4 back to back failures is now 33 minutes into a task and running it by all appearances. It has not trickled yet but it is early. My other system that has a task in progress has done 3 trickles and is still happy.

I have three Windows 10 systems two are failing every task and one is chugging along working happily on a task. Age wise it is the girl in the middle. The other two systems are either slower or faster and all are similar 4 processor systems with the same version of BOINC and Win 10.

When the answer is finally figured out we will probably all shake our heads.

Well it has been more days and while we don't know for sure if the credit script is ever being run one thing we do know is that Stat's are not being exported. Here is a snapshot of the export files with time stamps.

Looking forward to it. Which app would that be?
Weather at Home Windows tasks.

Will they still be just for older versions of Windows? The Applications page states that they are for Windows 2000 - Windows 8.

As far as the Tasks will run on all versions of Windows after Windows 2000 including Win 10 and Win 11.

Since this is the tread where we discussed this the last time that we had a Credit Export problem ... I will bring it back here.

It appears The Credit Stat's are not being Exported on a regular basis again. Here are the current time stamps of the data last exported,

Some one needs to bump the Script.

But here (currently) the folder seems simply not to exist - let alone the files which would normally live in it. Only the project staff can explain that.
This shows it's been unavailable for just over a month:

For some reason the host XML disappeared first?

18) Questions and Answers : Wish list : Credit Statistics - BOINC Versions (Message 68840)
Posted 5 Jun 2023 by Profile Bill F
Post:
Since the urls end in '.php', that's a program which queries the project's internal database, and displays the numbers 'live on the fly'. Again, it's a generic part of the BOINC server toolkit: all projects can use it if they wish, but not every site will make a live link available on their website. CPDN rather seems to have only a partial server installation on their new hardware, so far.

Edit: the Wayback machine has several snapshots of the old server stats, but you have to go back to 18 August 2021 to see a fully-active sample.

Maybe items for the Wish List ?

Actually I Was not asking about the Credit Stat's

Another Stat that used to be available was how many systems with Which version of BOINC are active on the Climate Prediction Project.

First URL was https://www.cpdn.org/host_stats.php

2nd URL was https://www.cpdn.org/host_stats.php?boinc_version=1

Keep up the good work !!!

What you get here are 3 files with this content:
bad URL

It looks like that reply is generated on the fly by a script.
If so, you may need to copy the real stats files to the correct server location and disable the script.
Up to a point. The files expected by the external sites are generated from the internal database by a standard BOINC server tool - db_dump, now documented at https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/wiki/DbDump (all the documentation has moved recently). I'd suggest that either the program hasn't been configured to run on the new server yet, or the final locations haven't been created yet.

But it would still be wise to get to the bottom of the mysterious doubling of the existing stats before exposing them to the world.

Richard can your take a 2nd try with the URL .... ?

Thanks
Bill F
