1) Message boards : Number crunching : What is with all the models crashing after running for 20-30 seconds? (Message 43933)

Actually it IS a Mac problem, and is described in this sticky thread right at the top of the Macintosh section.

There is a different problem with some Linux systems, described in a sticky thread at the top of the Linux section.

Most Windows models run without problems.

The funny thing is I have done no system changes and my system was doing good work until mid to end of February last month and then nothing has worked since. I have done the detach reattach and am looking to see if this fixes the problem. I suspect it won't but am hoping it will.I looked at most of my failed work units and even the windows machines error out the WU that died on my machine. My task list

some WU that both a windows machine and mine killed
this one one of each OS killed it

Here on OSX and Window machine killed it

Here is are window machines generating errors like mine

I have a Mac OSX machine and I have not had one Model run for more than one minute in the last week. I look at the models and they are crashing not just for me but for all 3 supported OS's ( Win,Linux, and OSX). Has anyone found a reason for this?

EDIT just for emphasis none of the WU have been finished by any computer assigned to them. This is not an OSX problem. This appears to be a model problem.

That seems a bit over-kill to me. Couldn't you simply have suspended all projects?

I am totally offline now for BOINC looks like it could be over a month depending on weather until I restart BOINC. I have the program off so it would have been a long time until I got around to downloading the 3 missing files. I figured it would be faster/easier for the project to kill the one stuck WU. I reported the stuck waiting to report SETI beta result about 24 hours after I first posted and then killed the stuck downloading CPDN WU and shut it all down. With BOINC offline it is finally cool enough in the apartment to sleep again.
Also with the long potential down time I set no new tasks reported all work before the shutdown and only then killed the stuck CPDN WU, it was only one WU.

I gave up and killed the WU. Temps are spiking here and I have no AC right now so I had to stop all DC projects until later. I will be back as soon as I have AC or the temps drop. Have to report one result and I am all done with BOINC projects. Computing is now done for all projects just one more project to report; and it is down due to server problems so I can't report the work until later this week.

I have had a Famous model stuck downloading for about 3 days. Please advise is a my end or a project problem. I suspect that is on the project end.

Ok I will leave my Intel Mac attached to CPDN if work is so close to being here. I just finished a WU and my machine is begging for work and is being told no work is available. Keep up the good work and I hope to se progress soon.

I am getting trickle up failures. I have a list of 10 in a row failing. It has not started backing off for longer periods yet so only the last 1/2 hour or so. It is saying HTTP internal server error
