1) Message boards : Number crunching : Iceworlds & Slowdowns hadsm3/mh - Closed - Discussion (Message 36096)

I am posting to report that hadsm3mh_kj7q_006010388 went iceworld at 99.371% completion. It is still running, but extremely slowly. BOINC Mgr is estimating 5 hrs to completion, but by my calculations it\'ll be closer to 6 days.

Using a previous example of reporting an Ice World:

1. A link to the model/ResultID webpage
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/trickle.php?resultid=8284151

2. A current timestep of that model (on the globe graphic)

252734 of 259248 Date 16/07/2065 07:30

3. The s/TS value

Hours Elapsed: 0530:27:16 (1.85 s/TS) - per the last trickle the s/TS had been 1.7036 on 2/5/09 at 00:44:46 UTC.

4. Whether the temperature display of the globe graphic is blue.

Yes. Entirely.

5. What your processor/CPU is (i.e. Intel, AMD)

GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 7]

6. Whether you are overclocking.

Yes to 2.70GHz.

Thanks,
Jack

I see you\'ve created your team here. Within a couple of days the team on CPDN should also show up on your BoincStats page.

Hi Mo.v!

I appreciate the patience and feedback. I\'m still trying to sort out how all of the BOINC stuff inter-connects etc. My team, is showing up on CPDN and on BOINstats - but not through the view your link points me to. I see zeros when I select the \"team

If I go to my BOINCstats page, and select the team from there it takes me to this URL that looks to be getting the points from World Community Grid and CPDN.

I\'m still reading through the forums and trying to figure out the difference between points granted by the projects and the \"credits\" being counted by BOINCstats and others.

For example, the WCG website (My Grid) shows I have 29,248 (as I write this email), but BOINCstats has my WCG credit at 4178.40. Is there some sort of \"normalization\" that converts points in project to a more global credit standard?

Thanks for the tip and insight, Les. I\'ll create the team on CPDN and see what happens if I cut-n-paste the info from my other projects. I guess if it doesn\'t synch properly its really no worse than today, right? :)

You can register your team on CPDN from the link at the bottom of the CPDN team page.

Right, I saw that link. But won\'t that make two separate teams (even if I use the same name) to all of the BOINC stat programs that gather the data? Or is there a way I can enter the Team ID I have already to get the scores to combine. Does this make any sense or am I missing something...

In hindight after posting my response, I wonder, when I first joined this project I used the join a team function to find and join team USA - which I also joined on World Community Grid.

How is team USA setup to be across multiple projects? The points I get from both project do come together for me in my stats so they are joined somehow, right? And is there something (like USA) I can do in the interim until the BOINC-Wide team issue is resolved (assuming it does get resolved)?

Thanks again!

6) Questions and Answers : Windows : Visual Fortran Run-Time Error (Message 35957)

Post:
No, it\'s not unique to HP. This morning I\'ve started seeing the same Fortran error. This particular machine I put together with off-the-shelf parts - Asus MB, AMD64 - processor running Windows XP Home Edition.

I was researching the error in the forum which is how I came across this thread.

From what I gather, this isn\'t a problem in terms of completing the taks, right? The message tab doesn\'t indicate any sort of problem and the tasks suspend and resume like they should.

I\'ll do a reboot shortly and see if I get the error again.

Hi, I\'m new to BOINC/CPDN and have a setup question. I joined a few weeks ago (1/3) and decided a couple of days ago to start my own team to get some of my co-workers engaged. I went to the Berkley BOINC-Wide Teams to create the team (CMC - Community Med Ctrs) and see that it did propagate to numerous projects, but not CPDN. Any ideas? Thanks in advance - Jack
