Ditto! Only I used BoincView to deplete the WUs while still remaining attached to the project. This way, it's easier for me to resume when I feel CPDN is ready for me.

Sorry I left that out before.
I'm running <b>CC 4.25</b> and CPDN was running <b>hsdsm3 4.10</b>

Unrecoverable error for result 07wq_000035288_1
( - exit code -5 (0xfffffffb))

Any clues?

I ran it for over a CPU day (and two trickles).

<i>1. Make the tray icon changeable so that it looks like a little Earth.</i>

I think that's a great idea.

The System Tray icon should reflect the project that is currently crunching, i.e. use the same icons that are used for the web sites (look at the top left of your browser/tab).

Since this would only change once every x minutes (where x is defined in your General Preferences), then this should not be a heavy CPU hitter.

&gt; Okay, here we go John :)
&gt;

Wow, I think I actually did it all right before!

Don't you think it would be a good idea, especially for these very long WUs, to have a process that would either:
1) allow the user to re-upload the WU
or
2) occasionally re-verify that the user still has the WU and if not, either re-upload it or mark it reusable for someone else.

&gt; If you have any problems just ask and I'll post up an example.

I did those too and I <i>think</i> I have it all right, but I'll take you up on your offer of an example, just to be sure. I'd hate to run a WU for a month only to have it refused.

&gt; In answer to Thyme Lawn's post. I got around this problem by having the
&gt; cruncher files already installed on the system before upgrading. When I
&gt; un-installed CC v4.13 prior to upgrading to v4.22, it left the projects and
&gt; slots directories intact. (With CPDNs cruncher files and WUs). Installing
&gt; v4.2x in the same directory will allow you to continue where you left off
&gt; because it will use the EXISTING copy of the cruncher WITHOUT checking for
&gt; signatures. Whether this is an undiscovered bug or done by design, I'm not
&gt; sure. It seems like it ONLY checks signatures on crunchers IT has downloaded
&gt; and NOT on crunchers that pre-exist in the BOINC directory from previous
&gt; installations.
&gt;
&gt;

I tried this, I restored the files from a backup but they are not recognized. I'm assuming I have to "register" them in the <b>client_state.xml</b> file, but I'm not sure what all the fields do and I don't want to mess with the WUs that are correctly registered to me.

&gt; Sadly, there is no way of asking the server to reallocate the same WUs to you.
&gt; The only way to go back to them would be if you had a backup - and if you had
&gt; you would not be asking the question :(
&gt;

Actually, I do have a backup but I didn't realize what was happening until a few days after I reinstalled BOINC and reattached to all of my projects. Each project has the same problem and each is now processing a new set or WUs.

My problem is that I do not know enough about the <b>client_state.xml</b> file to attempt modifying it to merge the new WUs and the old WUs.

I recently had a local disk problem and lost my entire BOINC directory. Looking in my RESULTS page, I see I still have some <b>in progress</b> work units signed out to me. How do I get them back to me so I can reprocess them or how do I tell the server that I'm no longer working them?

I did as you suggested: I uninstalled 4.24 then installed 4.19.
I'm still getting:
<b>Message from server: No work available (daily quota exceeded)</b>

Can I assume this will resolve itself tomorrow?

I'm running 4 BOINC projects:
<ol><li>SETI@home
<li>Einstein@Home
<li>climateprediction.net
<li>ProteinPredictorAtHome
</ol>I see that this project has preference fields that no other project has:<br>
<i>Keep enough work on disk to last between <b>5 and 7 days</b></i>

<p>This option is nice because I don't have to depend on the network or scheduling servers <b>and</b> I can process work units faster than the scheduling servers can dish them out (quite often I get an error message saying they do not have any work for me, but since I have extra work in my queue, I'm always busy).
<p>The problem is that when I use this option, my other projects get other fields overlayed.
<p>For example,
I had

<i>Connect to network about every <b>0.01 days</b> (15 minutes)</i>
set in my other 3 projects before I updated this field here.
<br>After I activate this change (UPDATE from the PROJECT tab), my other 3 projects look like this:

<i>Connect to network about every <b>5 days</b></i>
