1) Questions and Answers : Windows : Computation error, purportedly, due to insufficient disk space (Message 43967)

Post:
A 'computation error' notification appeared shortly after the previous task hit the 26% completion.
Running hadam3p_pnw now the notification indicates the same 'computation error'. A server message reads as follows

03/04/2012 16:54:53 | climateprediction.net | Message from server: UK Met Office HADAM3P European Region needs 122.52MB more disk space. You currently have 1784.83 MB available and it needs 1907.35 MB.

My computing preferences here define 3.5G space for BOINC leaving atleast 10GB free. With around 18GB on disk I figure it shouldn't be a problem.

What should I do to get the task running again?

Appears to be resolved. After the last reboot, the calculations continued from around 0.8%

Thank you all.

Here's what appears in the Graphics Window side-pane

Timestep 350 of 138624

Your progress

I hope I'm not hijacking the forum bandwidth ... perhaps I might post directly to you in a message?

Hm.
I now see the graphics after upgrading to 6.12.34 (x86) and downloading a fresh task hadam3p_eu_ager_1983. Could you guide me on where to seek the 'Next Savepoint' ?

Nope.
The 'Show graphics' button remains disabled even after selecting the model on the tasks tab. Is there another way to enable it?

Hi Les,

I'm sorry to bother you on here again, but I'm on a dynamic IP which triggered the Honeypot warming on my attempt to reach the FAQs.

The 'Show Graphics' button is not enabled for this model (hadam3p_eu_90ba_1969_1_007720462_1) What should be done to enable the 'Show Graphics' button? The BOINC Manager version is 5.10.30

Pretty much what the title states.

This computer is usually shutdown for a few hours of down-time when I hit the sack myself. The trouble is each shut-down/boot-up loses upto a few tenths of a percent of progress ... which translates to several score minutes of CPU time.

Is there a way to avoid/reduce this work-loss?

8) Questions and Answers : Windows : Cannot upload files and communicate to server (Message 41973)

A similar issue faced here by me off-and-on for a while (several months), http://www.climateprediction.net is not available over http albeit ping/tracert go through.

I found my way onto the forum quite by accident via http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/

After a backup of all files under BOINC with a reference to 'climateprediction.net', I modified the entries to reference http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc instead ... without success.

It would be nice to have some guidance here please.

--- Follow-up -----
Detach/reattach using the modified URL brings up a message that says 'Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down'

Abhishek/Ev1
