See the FAQ. > Hello Andrew, I'm experiancing the same. I run an AMD 1.7Ghz. Nothing else running in the back ground and my project is predicted to be around 1500hours. Is this common? How can I alter the time step? (sorry If i'm sounding a bit newbie-ish, but I am fairly new to this software) |

Deferring Communications problem??
(Message 9406)
Posted 16 Feb 2005 by old_user46311 Post: Hello, I have a problem (or think I have) the past week or so my Boinc client has been fine, but the past day or two I noticed this red little symbol coming over my icon in the task bar and its been there since. On my messages tab its a bit clear that boinc is having difficulty to connect and it keeps deffering communications by a time period to try again. It also says Master file fetch failed. I run a firewall which is configured to always permit incoming and outgoing traffic to my boinc client. Just recently I installed a proxy program to my browser to keep my anonmity but I dont know how this would affect boinc as its only browser based and its currently disabled at present. Is there a problem at my end or the server end of boinc? Answers on a post card! :) |
