Really?

I've got a WU running on Win10 right now

Tho I will admit it's the first in a very long time

Post:
Sigh

I must have been half asleep when I posted

I indeed have only one WU

And the expected run time is 12 days, not 12 hours

But a 1 year deadline is still ludicrous

Post:
I was under the impression that Project Admins set the deadline for each batch released

if they have a batch with short expected run times, set a short deadline

If longer expected run times, a longer deadline

Or am I misunderstanding something?

I currently have two WUs with expected run times of ~12 hours, and a deadline of 1 year, which is absurd

I'm now getting

1/31/2018 11:03:42 PM | climateprediction.net | [error] Error reported by file upload server: can't write file wah2_sas50_q3b2_201612_13_707_011451403_0_r448480803_11.zip: Disk quota exceeded

<sigh>

if it's not one project with capacity problems, it's another

Thanks for the responses, guys

For whatever reason, both downloads have finally completed, and I have one task running (I use an app_config to limit to one task at a time) and three others queued and waiting

Unless you use an app_config.xml file, yep

I've had two downloads stuck in my queue for almost a week now

0% downloaded, and they just won't start

Is there something wrong with the DL server?

I've had a download stalled for almost three days now

I've noticed this a couple of time lately. Never noticed a problem before.

Is this a bug, or just me being unlucky??

Currently running two short models

Just got home to find multiple Visual Fortan errors

forrtl severe (38) error during write D:\Boinc ...\tmp\pipe\dummy

Image hadcm3s_um_7.24_w
Routine unknown

I OKed the errors, and immedialtely got two more, etc

Aborting both WUs at this point

Thanks, Richard

The manual download worked - only after I completely shutdown AdAware!!

I've placed the executable itself, as well as the entire BOINC data directory in my excludes list, but am still getting the checksum error

Any further thoughts/suggestions?

Just this evening I started getting

9/21/2014 11:17:00 PM | climateprediction.net | [error] File hadcm3s_7.24_windows_intelx86.exe has wrong size: expected 784384, got 59745

I assume that BOINC is trying to download a new "short" executable and failing?

(I've already placed my BOINC Data Directory in my anti-Malware "ignore list")

If you can, at least temporarily, re-install that version of BOINC in user mode, the model should run normally - and provide the proof to confirm the diagnosis.

I'm running in user mode (v7.2.42) (for vLHC and ATLAS) and half my short WUs are erroring out

I went ahead and reset the project, since CPDN had the highest CPU share of any of my projects, and was still not downloading after three weeks of inactivity

Within 2 minutes I had gotten a new WU

<shrug>

Yeah, it was just about the same time that I started T4T that I returned my last WU

OK, I'll just wait awhile more, then

And Yes, I am shopping around for a new computer. When I get one, I'll turn this old box into a dedicated cruncher for a couple of projects

I have noticed that there are very few WUs being created

My problem, is that I have set "all applications" and have not set any geographical limits (at least I don't think that I have - How can I tell??) and I've been on the Server Status page a couple of times, and have seen a few WUs available. If I immediately do an update, I get "Not reporting or requesting tasks" in the log

My last WU was reported more than two weeks ago, and I have a fairly large CPU percentage set for CPDN, so why would BoincMgr not be requesting more work?

TIA for any insight

> Hi Sting and Ken
>
> Have a look at what I wrote in answer to Steve in his Exit Code -5 thread
> further down this same message board. What Tolu says there is v.
> significant.
>
> I'm now back on classic cpdn, which is working perfectly just as it did before
> I tried boinc. I will stick with this until boinc becomes more
> Athlon-compatible or until I need a new processor. What I don't know is
> whether you can run boinc (for Seti etc) and cpdn classic simultaneously.
>
> The matter has been extensively discussed on the classic forum. See the 1 in
> 8 thread. Or, for my experiences in allegorical style, the Server in
> Switzerland still Down thread.
>

But all my machines are Intel based PIII/P4/P4M, so at least in my case, it's not related to Boinc on an Athlon

I'm running that build of ZoneAlarm with no problems

Do you have your prefs set to always work or only when inactive?

I am almost to the same point

All other projects (Seti and Pirates for now, LHC and Predictor before they shut down) are rock solid.

I don't think that I've ever gotten farther than about 40% when CPDN throws a Fortram Error or a program exception or for some reason trashes the current WU and downloads another.

The only thing that CPDN really has going for it is that right now, it and Seti are the only ones with work to do. There for a while, they were the only project that actually was giving out work
