Posted 4 Oct 2014 by DJStarfox Post: Oh yeah, I forgot where I put that thread. :P I did fix permissions, but I'm missing those jpeg files. :( I'll try getting some work tonight. If that fails, I'll reset the project. |

(Message 50359)
Posted 2 Oct 2014 by DJStarfox Post: I found a file called stderrgfx.txt, and inside are a bunch of the following lines: Failed to load '/var/lib/boinc/projects/climateprediction.net/globe.jpg'. So, I'm guessing my globe.jpg file is corrupted. Anyone got a download link? |

Posted 1 Oct 2014 by DJStarfox Post: Ah, so the clouds are actually changing when I use the number keys 1-5 to change them.... The weird characters appear to be part of the ocean and land bitmap. Hmm... I wonder if there's a corrupt or missing graphic file? Any idea what file(s) to look at? |

Posted 30 Sep 2014 by DJStarfox Post: This model is running OK. http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=17098764 However, the graphics when I select "Clouds" looks like this image. The other graphics (temperature, pressure, etc) are fine. What is wrong with this model? |

Task ... exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
(Message 48408)
Posted 15 Mar 2014 by DJStarfox Post: BigDave67, In your Computing Preferences, be sure to set "Leave tasks in memory while suspended?" = Yes. This will pause climate models when necessary but won't force them to unload from memory. This setting can save time and reduce the possibilities of errors if your machine switches from idle to busy frequently. Works for me; YMMV. |

AM3P EU Graphics are missing all text
(Message 44521)
Posted 13 Jul 2012 by DJStarfox Post: The only thing that looks interesting is the contents of the stderrgfx.txt file: Failed to load '/var/lib/boinc/projects/climateprediction.net/globe.jpg'. Failed to load '/var/lib/boinc/projects/climateprediction.net/eu.jpg'. These two lines repeat several times...and the two images referenced are there in the filesystem.... So, not sure why the graphics app can't read them.... Oh, and I do have libjpeg x86_64 and i686 installed.... libjpeg-turbo-1.1.1-1.fc14.i686 libjpeg-turbo-1.1.1-1.fc14.x86_64 Does the graphics program run as the boinc user account or as my account (logged in user)? I search file permissions just in case. |

Posted 12 Jul 2012 by DJStarfox Post: Sorry, forgot system details. I'm running BOINC 6.10.58. Fedora 14 with kernel 2.6.35.14-106.fc14.x86_64. I don't see any error messages when it's running or i click show graphics. Is there some kind of graphics debug file maybe?

Posted 6 Jul 2012 by DJStarfox Post: Odd. I guess I am mistaken. I see now the apps are listed http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/apps.php I did check my preferences, and it's set to receive all the AM3 regional models. I guess we're back to the empty WU queue. I subscribed to the project RSS feed, so I'll check back for work once I hear something. |

My host ID is: 1087841 Task is named: hadcm3n_u7bv_1980_40_007460072_2 Received on: 09/24/2011 11:21am Task deadline: 12/24/2011 06:52pm (Not sure about the timezone, might be EST or GMT.) |

Any idea when there will be new work?
(Message 42844)
Posted 1 Sep 2011 by DJStarfox Post: I seem to recall a script the project admins ran that detected idle workunits. If there is a workunit with "In Progress" tasks, it checks that at least one trickle has been received in the last 6 weeks or so. If not, they could cause those tasks to abort and resend. I think running such a query this weekend would be insightful. |
