1) Message boards : Cafe CPDN : Time for an English Speaking Alliance? (Message 18887)

To compete with the oldest and active team on the site Robbie!- there\'s the rub.
Has anyone yet devised a means of replacing a former founder member who departed this project in April 2005?(wink).

How about make a new Team with a slighly different name that means the same thing? Like the \"English Speaking Alliance\", for instance ;o)

Here\'s my attempt to start with...
<a href=\"http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_join_form.php?id=4066\">http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_join_form.php?id=4066</a>

Now to convince all national team members to join!

This has probably come up before, and please forgive me if it has, but surely it would make sense to have English Speaking Alliance team to give L\'Francophone Alliance a decent opponent to compete with ;-)
4) Questions and Answers : Windows : Does BOINC ever reduce the data on your PC? (Message 11504)

&gt; You'll find useful information in <a> href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=1835"&gt;this
&gt; thread</a>.
&gt;
&gt;

Thank you. Very inconvenient if you want to use your disc space for other things, basically.

Does BOINC manage completed WU / data and delete it from the PC, or are we expected to do that ourselves / devote increasing amounts of disk space to continue working?

What's the average space needed when running BOINC for climateprediction only (assuming data is deleted at some point)?

&gt; Note the succeeded above.
&gt;
&gt; You do now have a trickle (click on your user name to see record of it)
&gt;
&gt; 72 Trickles per model so that is about 1.39% of a model.

Thank you. I noticed a few moments ago!

&gt; 1. In the BOINC window go to the projects tabs and choose update. See what
&gt; message you get in the messages tab.
&gt;
&gt; 2. Firewalls do not necessarily tell you when they block something. In WinXP
&gt; SP2 you can choose Windows Firewall in Control Panel and select the exception
&gt; tab. Other OS and versions will be different and there are other firewall
&gt; progams especially on a network. You may have to do a bit of ferreting to
&gt; locate the problem.
&gt;

Thanks for the reply. I have Windows Firewall switched off at work and have the same network environment as my colleague. I tried the update option - these are the messages I received in reply:

climateprediction.net - 2005-01-28 12:56:32 - Sending request to scheduler: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
climateprediction.net - 2005-01-28 12:56:35 - Scheduler RPC to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded

BOINC tells me it has completed 1.36% of the package. Could it be that I simply haven't completed enough of for any trickles to be uploaded?

I have the same problem as described above. I have BOINC installed on 1 machine at work and 2 at home. None of which are uploading their done work. A colleague also has BOINC on his machine on the same network at work and he is not experiencing this problem. The packets of data are sat there in the dataout folders, waiting to be uploaded.

Any ideas?
