1) Message boards : Number crunching : Bad for CPU to run 100%, 24/7 @ 62 degrees? (Message 9007)

If your CPU is running at 62°C you must have something wrong with your cooling system. I have an AMD 2400+ well overclocked, and it is constantly at around less than 50°C. Even my laptop, running CP doesn't heat up that much...

No, I had no system restart at all. But the same WU had a problem by another user also.

My computer processed a WU about 1.25%, then uploaded and downloaded something (as much as I know, a trickle, rigth?). Now it's processing another one for about 1 hour. I still have no credit, and by my account it says, that I don't have any trickles yet. Any ideas what's the problem?

Sure there is a way. Under your account you can edit your preferences, depending on where your computers are, or where you locate them. You have 3 locations avalible: "Home", "School" and "Work". Edit them as you wish and enjoy ;)

Well, it's not a desktop, it's a laptop, wich means I have an AMD mobile. That's also the main reason for less ram.My desktop is an AMD XP2600+ with 512 MB RAM.

So far my AMD XP2800+ 220MB of RAM proccesed 0,48% of WU. Time taken: 8h 35min
Is this normal?

So if I understand this 1 trickle is about 1.4% of whole WU ?
And how long does it take you to finish one trickle, and later a WU. Please answer me in hours. Thanks

Hi there, I'm new to CP. Until now I've only been participating by SETI.
I'm wondering if the system of validation is the same here and there. By SETI you process a WU and then it's compared with 2 more users, and the middle is taken as granted credit. Is the same here, or do you get the amount of credit that you claime?

Thanks, so how much credit do you get for 1 WU by CP ?

I participate @ SETI and @ ClimatePrediction. I have the projects set to 200 for SETI and 100 for CP. So, basicly 2 hours of work for seti, and 1 hour for CP. I just downloaded the CP client, but it sais that it needs 1317 hours to completion. Anyone knows the reason?

My configuration is: AMD Mobile 2800+, 190MB ram, Win XP pro.

It takes about 4 hours to finifh 1 SETI WU, so what's the problem by CP ?
