1) Message boards : Number crunching : Temporarily failed upload System Connect (Message 37260)

Post:
Since the problem with the server storage space, I've been attempting to upload two work units. On both of them I get this error message:

6/17/2009 8:12:39 AM|climateprediction.net|Temporarily failed upload of hadam3p_nan5_1965_2_006162283_2_3.zip: system connect
6/17/2009 8:12:39 AM| Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of hadam3p_nan5_1965_2_006162283_2_3.zip
6/17/2009 8:12:40 AM||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down.

The two work units have only one upload remaining of about 235KBs each. Server status shows everything is running.

I've tried exiting out of BOINC and rebooting my system and the error remains. Trickle-up messages succeed and the server status shows all green.

Is there something on my end that I have to change with to resync with the servers and clear these completed units from my queue?

I've had ver4.19 for weeks now and this is the first time I've had this problem occur.

I'm getting this error too. I'm also attached the the Einstein@home project and can update with them with no problem. Gotta be a server on CPDN's end with the problem.

You've said that we can connect to the server at http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc instead of the climatepredition.net. Can this be done while crunching or will it cause problems with the WUs? And how is this done?

Thanks!
5) Questions and Answers : Windows : GUI Diagnostic Error (Message 4954)

Is this something that will fix itself eventually or needs some sort of intervention? If so, what?

There's only one user that's active on the computer, mine, which also has admin rights for XPPro.

Thanks!

Since I installed the newest version of BOINC and completed a WU, on power up or restart of BOINC I get an error window:

\"BOINC Runtime Exception -108 File Operation Failure Failed to reopen stdout (file name varies) for diagnostics redirection (overwrite) Filename: \"\\Boincsrc\\Main\\boinc_public\\lib\\diagnostics.C\'
Line: \'93\'\"

Followed by a message window \"Failed to cleanup the Windows Sockets Interface\"

I\'m running on WinXP SP2, 3.00 Intel P4 w/HT, 2GB of ram.

Any clues?

Thanks!
7) Questions and Answers : Preferences : CPU Usage (Message 2221)

I\'m a new BOINC user and am still exploring the preferences settings. The old model only took up 50% CPU usage at max. The BOINC model is taking up 100% CPU usage. Is there a setting I can change to make it only take up 50%?

Thanks.
Chris
