Post: Plus another 2 one of which has failed 3 times before - libraries in one case file system in the other 2 (Science United and two anonymous users). Query: Should anonymous users be allowed? Should there be (or is there) a mechanism to block machines that have frequent failures? |

Post: Not over worried as I have got the credit for the work. Presumably in about 12months time it will come round again for reissue if the task set hasn't been pulled. |

Post: Similar problem but in reverse. All trickles loaded, out and restart zips sent but task showing as not complete. Also showing full credit! Post: The only project that works for my Linux machine is universe@home and even that one had about 3 days of uploads that were not going up until now. Even now, that is pretty spotty. I was gettng Einstein and Milky Way to work OK on my Linux box. Temporarily shut down to see effect on electrcity consumption. Also waiting for WCG to come back online. |

Post: Same here. Suspended pending 926 tasks and started the 895 one just to check if it would run OK. Looking good at the moment. There seem to be a lot of computers that are "idle" for several months. Extra grist to the mill for a shortening of the allowed/estimated completion time before reissuing the task. |

Post: Due to a moment of absolute madness last week I managed to totally delete the Win10 operating system on my main machine and with it the VM installations running Ubuntu - and hence 6 recently started tasks!! (:-. I am assuming that these incomplete tasks will now sit on the server until there expiry date which is November this year. Hope that nobody needs the results in the meantime. Surely with todays faster computers the "expiry date" should be more in the region of 3 months rather than 10 to 12 that seems to be standard. The upside of this error is that computer now has Ubuntu installed as the OS which has so far proved to be more stable than the VM which kept "freezing". The initial downside is that BOINC then decided that the estimated completion time for the four downloaded tasks was 64days! That was six days ago - and those tasks are now nearing 50% completion with a small reduction in remaining time to 35days. Hopefully when the first of these tasks finishes the times will be more sensible. |

Post: There was no increase in memory speed in this case. Mistakenly I ordered 1333MHz for the extra rather than the 1600MHz already fitted. Hum ho. |

Post: Interestingly I recently increased my machines RAM from 16Gb to 24Gb (10 GB to 16Gb for the VM) and have noticed an approx 10% reduction in the sec/ts values for the batch 922 tasks. |
