Just did the upgrade and all is well. Stopped boinc, removed the existing boinc executable from the boinc directory, dropped the new executable into the boinc directory (leaving everything else in there alone) and started it again. The log shows that the new version was detected and it picked up where the previous version left off.

Also noticed the log was 27MB, so added it to the lograte configuration for good measure.

Why do you wait for the end of a model run? Will the upgrade affect the model I am running?
3) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : Will a change of my PC host name affect a currently-running model? (Message 8751)

Hi

I want to change the name I give this PC in our home network. Will that impact the model I have running at the moment?

The PC is very slow, so it has taken a long time to get where it is today - it would be a shame to waste that! If changing name would stop this model continuing, I will hold off until it is complete.

Thanks

Steve
