Thanks, you pointed me in the right direction, seems that CP had picked up my proxy server, squid, not had any problems before, but soon as I took the proxy server out the options it managed to upload all the files, although one file had managed to upload since I first posted here, not sure why this should have caused the problem in the first place.

I'm online 24/7 with cable, I think this may have happened about the time the CP server went down, but would have thought boinc should have been capable to sus this out.

I dont have time for sending files manualy, there should be the facility within the program, this seems like a bug that needs to be addressed IMO

I posted in the hope there would be a simple fix, I have lost interest in CP nowdays to devote it much of my time, maybe its time I bowed out.

I get "Temporarily failed upload of 16wv....zip" but if I click update on the project it connects just fine.

Its got another model which is 26% complete

I have 5 transfers all sat at 100% progress but all keep retrying every few hours for the last 5 days or more, begining to piss me off now, how do I clear them, other than uninstalling CP.

I thought I had joined climate predictions not BOINC. not interested in all the rest, just the best way to help climate predictions, if thats BOINC then fine but I dont feel I am a member of the BOINC community but the climate prediction community. This board should still reflect climate prediction not BOINC.
At the end of the day we are helping them with our spare resources, if they have lost track of that then maybe its time I reassed the situation.

Just one gripe about this forum, can it be set so clickable links open in a new page, keeps p*****g me off when I forget to hold the shift key when I click on a link.
Right got that off my chest :)

8) Message boards : climateprediction.net Science : With BOINC installed, can I uninstall the old client? (Message 2162)

Yes but it was suggested that you zip it up before uninstalling just in case you want to use it again and to keep the archive data in case its needed at some future date.

Well you did check some 3 hours after me, so maybe it got updated later.
Something odd has happened, showing a lot of us on setisynergy stats has new, also a lot who were above me seemed to have started from scratch, but they are still showing correctly on the cpdnboinc team list.

Where's the trickles page? I can't find it

*edit* Found them but can I say the site is very hard to navigate to find such things, like going through a maze ;)

P4 2GHz 3.16 - 3.22 was fastest when I first started, slowed down for some reason now

./configure --disable-FEATURE

Its what the feature is called though, obviously not server ;) tried it in caps too but still no luck

Edit: should have gone to boinc site and read a bit more, solution was export MYSQL_CONFIG=true then do regular ./configure

Bombs out in the make now ../lib/util.C:34:18: locale: No such file or directory, tried make -k and make in the client dir

Thanks Carl, did give it a try but it bombs out in the congigure grumbling it cant find mysql_config exectutable, no doubt if I get that sorted it will then want something else, had this happen before, can go on forever sometimes.

Its not a very fast box so its not a great loss to the project, probably not worth the effort ;)

Maybe we can shame the admins into removing the links by posting them all here.

&gt; I haven't upgraded it yet but will get to it soon. Check out <A> HREF="http://rpmfind.net"&gt;RPMFind.net</A> (my favorite linux library site),
&gt; copy / paste "libstdc++.so.5" into the search field and see if there's a .RPM
&gt; package for your distro. You will need other library upgrades to get it
&gt; installed without problems.
&gt;

Ok thanks for your quick reply, if it was just one package I would have installed it but since it will need several I think I will leave it and just carry on with my windows client for now. Using redhat 7.2 also.

I cant get the pre-compiled BOINC to work on my linux box:-
error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Where can I get the source code to compile it myself, followed the links on boinc.berkeley.edu but they dont have the 4.02 version there, or if they do I cant find it.
