Thank you very much Kamran Islamabad, Pakistan I tested this a bit a few weeks ago, and there\'s no problem. Just use Windows Add or Remove programs to uninstall BOINC, wait until the data folders get moved back to the old position, and then re-install BOINC.

(Message 35227) Posted 13 Oct 2008 by old_user265157 Post: Unfortunately when after a long time I installed a new (6.x) version of BOINC on my computer I couldn\'t figure out that protected installation is in fact \"service\" installation (I am a software developer, and it was somewhere in the back of my mind [wrongly] that \"service\" is more powerful and hence it cannot be protected). Hence I installed it for a single account. Now as this calculation is going on, is it possible that I re-install the BOINC in service mode without abandoning the calculations done so far?
