Just a guess, you did not attach your client to the project. So go back to the boinc directory and type ./boinc_4.19_powerpc-apple-darwin -attach_project it will prompt for URL and account key which you received by mail after you created your account at http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/create_account_form.php Et voilà , it should run now. You will not see any Application icon in the Dock as it is command-line - you will have the Terminal icon though, and an open window where you can see the results being calculated. It is of course possible to hide the process - just ask, as I will not explain how here to keep things simple. - matthieu - |

BOINC client disappeared

Posted 20 Feb 2005 by old_user25510 Post: > I installed BOINC as per instructions but cannot find the client I am not sure I understood your question, but in the Terminal if you type locate boinc_4 you will get the paths of all the files containing the word "boinc_4", which should boil down to the executable client. Then change to its directory, in my case cd /Users/matthieu/boinc/ and launch the client ./boinc (then press the tab key for autocompletion) This will run the client in the Terminal window - leave it open to see the progress. When you launch boinc, do you see any progress in the Terminal window ? something like 2mi4_100143715 - PH 2 TS 125415 - 03/03/1833 19:30 - H:M:S=0856:04:03 AVG= 8.01 DLT= 4.84 2mi4_100143715 - PH 2 TS 125416 - 03/03/1833 20:00 - H:M:S=0856:04:09 AVG= 8.01 DLT= 5.91 2mi4_100143715 - PH 2 TS 125417 - 03/03/1833 20:30 - H:M:S=0856:04:13 AVG= 8.01 DLT= 4.53 ? - matthieu - |
