With respect to crashed tasks not cleaning up after themselves, this seems to me much less of a problem than it used to be and it only rarely seems to happen to me now whereas it used to happen frequently. That may be because outside of testing branch, I only get the very occasional crashed task these days.
I would not say so: If Aurum has the problem with disk space and, as it seems to me, lot of crashed models, these crashed models will eat up a lot of space quite fast! Since I got WSL working on two Win10 computers, I had to clean-up by hand crushed WUs every times Win10 decided to restart my computer after the monthly Up-Date cycle without my intervention. And I remember well going around my Linux computers with WU numbers written down reported on climateprediction.net as crashed and cleaning it up on the hard disk so new ones could be downloaded again. This is the reason I do not run climateprediction.net on my server.

I paid out some GRC to climateprediction.net users the last couple of weeks. I was always wondering, how to obtain this user stats XML files directly from climateprediction.net (Last update user XML 2021-09-23 12:40:28 UTC (5 days 09:04:14 old)).
I would highly appreciate, if anyone might help/guide me to obtain the files. Please PM me.
So, I will not have to copy past it from boincstats.com and might semi-automate pay-outs.
Thanks a lot!

134	World Community Grid	9/28/2021 10:15:20 AM	Message from server: OpenPandemics - COVID 19 needs 200.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 200.00 MB.
135	World Community Grid	9/28/2021 10:15:20 AM	Message from server: Mapping Cancer Markers needs 500.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 500.00 MB.

You do not have enough disk space available. You might reconfigure your BOINC options as indicated by the post above.
And you are right, if a climateprediction.net WU crashes the zip files will not be cleaned up afterwards. So, you will have a lot of worthless information eating up your disk space. Someone mentioned it before, there are two solutions:
restart project
or clean-up all the crashed WUS by hand in the corresponding project folder.
Yes, it is not easy and hassle free to run climateprediction.net, but therefore it is fun and will help further generations!

I also limit to 4 WUs on AMD 3950, 2600, 1700. This seems to be a good compromise, with less WUs the calculation is definitely faster and with more the calculation is noticeable slower. All other threads are used for TN-grid or SiDock (and they are also impacted by the number of climateprediction.net WUs).
This is why I limit the WUs on AMD 3950 although this chip has more cache than the others two.
On my two WSL Computers I do limit climateprediction.net to 2 WUs per virtual machine, otherwise the RAM use is too high and the other WUs on Win10 are heavily impacted.

Strange Server Status says there's 10613 WUs ready to send. They must be Windoze since my Linux computers are not getting enough. The Applications page shows the work is dominated by Linux. I'm completely baffled by the relevance of Windows apps to whitelisting for Gridcoin which requires daily stats updates. People want to help but it sounds like you don't want any help.

Are you sure you have all the lib32 apps installed? I do not have any problems to download WUs on Linux or Win WSL. By the way, it is best not to run climateprediction.net on all cores or threads. But this you already know as a heavy BOINC user.

Plus there's very little Windows work these days, and there's already an oversupply of computers waiting to grab it.

I have read your comment several times now, but I honestly think, this should not bother you or climateprediction.net. There are projects that only use GPUs, and then there are those with work for Linux and Windows, some do have Android WUs other not, so each project has its own operating system and this is one of the fun parts of running BOINC: Know which project works best with which operating system and/or computer set-up.

As the lead core dev for Gridcoin, I would be very interested in hearing the results of that daily script. CPDN was whitelisted on Gridcoin originally, but was removed a few years ago because the stats need to be updated daily to meet Gridcoin's whitelisting requirements. It would be good to get CPDN back on the whitelist as there are MANY Gridcoiners that feel this project is very important and would love to contribute, including myself!

Jim, I gave up hope, climateprediction.net will ever run the script once a day, that is why I started to pay out small amounts of GRC every week.

I also asked you (I think with a PM never answered), if Gridcoin might implement a rain function for not whitelisted projects to simplify distributing GRC to “worthy-but-not-whitelisted BOINC projects”. I understood from an old forum post, that the scraper does not pull the data of not whitelisted projects at the moment – but this GRIDCOIN might be able to change. Or at least make the message part of “sendmany” command work.

This always in the spirit, that Gridcoin promotes the use of computers for BOINC instead of executing “useless” hashing algorithms at other coins.

And as a final thought, this might be one of GRC useful uses – short term - you and so many are looking for: “Pay Gridcoiners to crunch not whitelisted projects”.

To all, if anybody likes to donate, GRC address for the weekly payouts to cliemateprediction.net is: SJS78tV8MYrXaA8GwszN2bZz6WraaUaREq

Just to add: The WUs crashed with missing ZIP files. Unfortunately, I have not written down the exact Error message, but I think this error is quite usual after a system failure.
Beside this monthly WIN Up-Dates, WSL is pretty stable.

Have you done a google search for a command line/script that will either cleanly shutdown, or pause/save the vm before rebooting. I've seen people with vms running within VirtualBox be able to do this. It wouldn't do much good for a power failure or Windows blue screen problem, but for a Windows reboot or shutdown, it could prevent the loss of models?

No, I have not searched for this kind of solution, It would not have occurred to me, and it might be well behind my skills…
But to this particular incident: I opened a second Ubuntu stance on my computer and used the “—quit” command and waited until BOINC closed in the first Ubuntu stance (where BOINC was running). Then I closed both WSL Ubuntu Windows (At least I think so) and restarted the computer to install the Windows Up-Dates. This has worked before! But it seems, it does not work always.
I was warned about that, as I lost two WUs during the Win10 May Up-Date.
On the other WSL Computer, I am guilty… I installed a NVIDIA Driver without quitting WSL Ubuntu where BOINC was running - NVIDIA Driver unexpectedly rebooted before I was able to quit BOINC and close WSL Ubuntu.
So everybody shall be warned: Quit BOINC on WSL and wait a few seconds before your close Windows or restart your computer - sometimes it works sometimes it does not!

I decided to distribute some GRIDCOINS to motivate LINUX power-users and Windows users willing to install WSL2 or VM on their computer to run LINUX WUs every week. As well as it seems far-fetched that climateprediction.net will ever get whitelisted on GRIDCOIN again.

I will do this every time the credit statistics have been up-dated and processed in http://www.boincstats.com.
As I copy and process the data by hand in a LibreOffice spread sheet, I will pay out first only to GRIDCOIN team members until I have figured out how to automate the process (I do not have programming experience) – so any help is welcomed!
As GRIDCOIN allows other teams as well, I will happily include other users, if they answer this forum post with a valid CPID (which has identifiable GRIDCOIN address attached (http://www.gridcoinstats.eu)) or they answer with a small amount and a message to the following GRIDCOIN address:
SJS78tV8MYrXaA8GwszN2bZz6WraaUaREq
(Also donations to this address are welcomed, maybe by side-staking?).

SIGSEGV: segmentation violation

Isn't it an indication of too much overclock of CPU and/or RAM? I often see SIGSEGV errors when a computer is pushed too hard. If you are not at stock settings, I would try to dial back a little bit.

For those with Win10 computers, I successfully installed WSL2 with Ubuntu on one of my Win10 computers:https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1517859
After receiving the first Tickle everything looks very promising!
I sincerely hope that some of the Win10 user community, who run their computer 24/7 might try as well, so the CPDN Linux WUs will get processed a little bit faster.
I do not consider me a computer specialist; my knowledge is fairly limited with Windows as well as Linux.
