Known problem, the boinc developers have modified how the status column now works. This will be fixed in the next release.

2) Questions and Answers : Windows : Workunit i downloaded has vanished on CPDN website? (Message 12515)

I understand i am using a development version. Version 4.68 is the latest CVS compile from the boinc_dev repository. Im testing the scheduler as jm7 (whos developed it) and myself are two of the people who came up with the definition of the new scheduler proposal. It isnt the client side that i am asking about, its the fact that i have downloaded this work unit has not been registered on the server. So somewhere along the line on the server something has gone awol. Nothing has been changed in what is sent in a RPC request, so what happens server side should have not changed.

4) Questions and Answers : Windows : What is Request_Reschedule mean (Message 12512)

There was a bug that crept in to the dev builds that caused the scheduler to go into a continuous loop. This is due to the new scheduler that is being developped to improve the intelligence of the clients scheduling.

Well i went to do that, but for some reason (this has nothing to do with boinc) the boinc directory became corrupted during the move so i have lost the in-progress work units. What is pretty crap as i was a decent way through that work unit. However im going to leave cpdn as the only project attached for a few days so it can get a reasonable way into the new work unit.

Right. This morning i run a program that has shoved adware everywhere accross my computer and has changed settings that will not change back easily. So im left with one way to go.... a rebuild of my machine. I have one major problem. Im 116 hours through a CPDN work unit. I do not want to lose this work unit. If i take a copy of the boinc directory and put this back after i have rebuilt will it carry on from where it left off? Or are there also registry keys i need to back up.

Thanks
Jamie
7) Questions and Answers : Windows : BOINC Projects Tab confusion has all but SETI as Predictor (Message 3623)
Posted 9 Sep 2004 by old_user2341
Post:
> > how could you run predictor@home with boinc 4.05? I think it works only
> with
> > boinc 3.xx???
> >
>
> also does pirates@home run under 4.x? as to our name, there was going to be a
> US-based "Climate@Home" project but it didn't get NSF funding, so that name is
> still "reserved" for them.
>
>

Predictor is currently in the progress of upgrading so having it attached to 4.xx means that when they switch the 4 servers on and start pushing out work clients with it attached will start recieving work.

Pirates@home are currently upgrading there servers as well. I have not seen any work from them. Last thing i heard was they were fixing a bug with downloading the .exe files

Take a look at http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/trickle.php?resultid=30317

Notice the two trickles. They are of identical points but 20 minutes apart..... :S why?!?!?!
9) Questions and Answers : Windows : How often does the project \"trickle\"? (Message 2339)

Aha... soon after posting this i found the answer here http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=409

Maybe it would be a good idea to have recent answer first as the default setting on the forums as i keep forgetting to set it on new projects i sign up 2!

10) Questions and Answers : Windows : How often does the project \"trickle\"? (Message 2337)

I have tried to find a answer for this but so far i have not found anything that answers my q. I have now been processing my first CPDN for about 7 hours. Im not expecting it to trickle yet but how often should a trickle happen approximately? Are we talking once a day? every couple of days?

Thanks for any answers in advance!
Jamie
