1) Message boards : Number crunching : can't you start from earlier point? (Message 45972)

I had a couple of full resolution wu's die because the runtime environment fubarred. too bad you can't roll them back a little instead of throwing out the 500 hours of computer time.
2) Questions and Answers : Windows : cpdn stopping (Message 17845)

Are you using version 4.45 of BOINC? That would explain it as there was a bug which causes the problem you describe.

This is with 5.2.7.

The program is stopping. Boinc says it is runnng but no calculations are occurring. It is really getting annoying because of scheduler is making it go too near to deadline. I have to no new work every other project and then suspend and resume cpdn to get it to work again. this is not a normal long delay in cpdn.

&gt; You seem to have been hit by the <a> href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2577"&gt;misallocated
&gt; work unit bug</a> that should have been fixed. The credits you should be
&gt; accruing are being given to host ID 119447 as you can see from the result page
&gt; <a> href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=865334"&gt;here</a>.
&gt; Quite odd...Host ID 119447 had lots of misallocated credits (ones it
&gt; shouldn't have had), before Carl did the credit correction/recalculation back
&gt; in July, but the one you are working on is the only one still incorrectly
&gt; accruing credit for that host.
&gt;
&gt; Perhaps someone else can come along and explain it better.
&gt;

Now is it better to abort this workunit?

I have done over 200 hours and have not gotten any credit for the current. The model seems to be working fine.
6) Questions and Answers : Windows : When model crashed (Message 13142)

A few of the times that the model has crashed, they have crashed when I tried to watch the model graphics at the time the phase is changing and the virus scan goes off. The model locks up and then a few minutes later I get model failed.
7) Message boards : Number crunching : clent error (Message 11037)

It seems I am going through a lot of WU pretty fast. The clent seems to have a problem when under load. I believe it is occurring mostly when antivirus kicks in. I have seen it a least once. Climateprediction will clent error because the other program is taking all the process time. I am using FSecure.
