Well, I\'ve tried that on Windows XP and although BOINC runs, the graphics button is grayed out.

I have solution for problem with showing graphics in BOINC. The only thing you have to do is:
1. Open \"Computer Management\" (Right click on \"My Computer\" and click on \"Maintenace\")
2. Open \"Services and applications\" and select \"Services\".
3. Find service called \"BOINC\", double click on it and open the second tab called \"Login\".
4. Set login from \"This account:\" to \"Local system account\" and click \"OK\" to save chcanges.
And that\'s it! Restart service or computer and graphics will show now!

It is not needed to allow service to interact with desktop. All work well (TESTED).

Since moving to BOINC from the classic experiment I seem to be getting a load more crashes than I used to. At least the last three simulations have all failed at various stages of the experiment. Presumably this means the work was lost.

Am I the only one getting this? I\'m using 4.45 of BOINC on Windows XP.

Thanks for your input on this, and if you'll have me then I'll even join your team !

As for BOINC: well, that'll teach me! But to be honest, I can't be the only one this has happened to, and it's a poor result all in all. How many teracycles of CPU have gone down the tubes I wonder.

I'd set BOINC so that it idles when "user is active", but that obviously isn't enough to close the application tidily.

Fatuous Question: what's the opposite of "bullet-proof"?
Answer: BOINC.

:-(

I shutdown and restarted my machine without remembering to close BOINC (v 4.43). On restart the BOINC manager shows the climateprediction.net Project but there are no \"Work\" items. Before the shutdown one Work item was about 50% through, and one was scheduled.

Any way to get back my ongoing work?
