Ok,

Thank you. You were totally correct, it was the server side.

I’m trying to find a solution to ‘zero status’ next. It seems my PC3 is not up to task to deliver results as it will overheat or if I put the throttling on 50% it is just too slow.

Hello,

Funny problem I have:
No points since 23.11.

3 different computers. 2 with 5.4.11 and one with 7.5 (or something like that – the newest one).

Messages on PC1:
Task hadcm3ohc_176r_05604330_0 exited with zero status but no ‘finished’ file
If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
Rescheduling CPU: application exited
…..

Message on PC2:
Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
Reason: To send trickle-up message
(not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks)
Scheduler request succeeded
Message from server: Incomplete request received.
Started upload of file handcm3ohc_0ewr_05567682_1_1.zip
…….

PC3 don’t report either.

ON PC1 I once restarted the project. Differences before and after working:
1. global_prefs_override.xml on PC1 and then removed.
2. To my 3rd PC I donloaded the newst alpha version PC3
3. I registered myself to BAM! Now I’m out from it. PC1 and PC2

So far (20 minutes) everything OK!

New version failed to create global preferences, but after joining again to http://attribution.cpdn.org and updating preferences I got the xml. After that I could set the preferences easily by using new local preference window (a new thing in a new version) for this old machine. Now it won’t overheat and shut itself down thanks to the % usage level. A point for me, finally :) 4-1

It seems that you can just save a file called global_prefs_override.xml (info from here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/prefs_override.php) and you can do what you like (locally).

Laters all,
Tonpa

Yeah,

I tried attribution.cpdn.org and it worked. Once. No updates after that. After joining bam! global preferences file disappeared again.

Now downloading 5.7.5, I wonder what kind of excitements will follow :)

My preferences are also ignored. I\'m a new user and have a version 5.4.11. It seems that there is no global preferences xml found. Here is the message:
\"No general preferences found- using Boinc defaults\".

I am using only climateprediction.net. Changing and updating preferences won’t work.

So has someone forgotten to add the correct xml file? If so how I can get it?

And this problem (preferences not working) is in all my 3 computers, so it is not a single shot exceptional behaviour.

There is a F-secure antivirus program in all the 3 pc:s however. Could that be the reason?

Further comment, this program is too difficult to use. You are blocking most of the potential user out of the loop. I mean, for example, add project by copy pasting a web address?!? Oh my god - how the hell my mom will know how to do it and to do what? She can\'t even read English very well.

However, keep up the good work and maybe someday things are smoother.

Yours,
Tonpa
