1) Questions and Answers : Windows : Cancel project (Message 24799)

Wenn du die Option \"leave application in memory\" ausgewählt hast, solltest du zuerst Suspend bzw. Schlummer in der Taskbar auswählen und dann erst BOINC beenden. Dann kannst du einfach dein BOINC Verzeichnis irgendwo sichern, damit du nix verlierst wenn mal was schiefgeht.

2) Questions and Answers : Windows : Back Up to restart a crashed PC? (Message 20856)

It would be the best if you backup the whole BOINC-directory. If you use a packaging-tool like 7zip you can reduce the place needed extremely.
3) Questions and Answers : Windows : Error - Log Off (Message 20667)

I know what you mean. This is exactly the reason why you should first stop BOINC and then log off/shutdown your PC.
It is possible that your WU gets \"damaged\" when you simply kill the application by logging off.

Yap, it\'s 160 years. After 80 years of (simulated) crunching there will be a checkpoint. If the model seems to be alright there are additional 80 years, but if it looks like the model is damaged it will be stoped.

Well, I just tried to send a trickle-report and everything went fine. So I think that the servers are now up and running again. ;)

Hi and welcome to cp.net!

Well, there is nothing you could do to get a smaller WU. But 10 weeks sound a little bit too much. The time-remaining feature of the BOINC-Manager isn\'t very precice with cp-WUs, so it shouldn\'t need so much time.

Hope this answered your question.
7) Questions and Answers : Windows : About 3000 hours for complete the first Work Unit (Message 18741)

Hi and welcome to cp.net!

Yeah, climateprediction-WUs are a lot bigger than S@h Workunits. But don\'t be afraid of not getting any Credits during this 2000 h. Every 10000 Timesteps the server will be contacted and you will get some Credits.

I hope this answered your question. There should also be a FAQ anywhere here, which answers a lot more questions you probably have.
8) Questions and Answers : Windows : Sulphur model - weak performance (Message 17881)

Thanks for your answer. I know that sulphur-models takes more time to complete, but i couldn\'t imagine that it would be such a big increase. Well, maybe it\'s only a temporary performance problem and gets better in the future.

Greetings Joe

Hello everyone,

I have a small problem with my new Sulphur WU. On the \"old\" WUs I had an average of about 1.8 sec/TS. With the new model it\'s about 3.8 sec/TS.

IMHO that\'s a very big change and I have no idea why. The system is the same, no new hardware.

Is this typical or is there a problem with my PC or the WU?

Greetings from Austria
Joe

PS: Sorry for my bad english, I\'ll try to improve it. ;-)
