Same as a calendar decade, or a different unit of time? * if deadlines are currently being \"ignored\", does that mean that they can still be worked on after the completion date referenced in the \"Tasks\" tab? |

Clarifying When Files Can Be Deleted?
(Message 23702)
Posted 22 Jul 2006 by old_user193179 Post: hmmm....in my situation, Windows didn\'t shut down, but the screen saver had kicked in. I am curious about the \"restore\" command being referenced. Are you referring to restoring data from a system backup? Even so, how could I specify to the BOINC Mgr. which workload to process? Since I am only working on one project, it seems like there is a \"default\" workload that starts when the BOINC Mgr. is started. However, if I decide to simply let my system work on this new workload, and delete the folder named after the previous workload, can any additional files/folders be deleted as well? It\'s not obvious from looking at the contents of the \"climateprediction.net\" folder what files and folders can be deleted when a workload is completed, and what cannot. Thx. |

Posted 21 Jul 2006 by old_user193179 Post: I had a related question: my climate model will also require an average of seven hours per day to complete (in 2008), and there is no way I\'ll be able to complete it. My general question: would partially-completed data and computations still be useful to the overall project? If so, I\'ll continue letting it run to the end of a model year. Otherwise, I\'ll find another project that my system can actually complete. |
