And having "No Resubmission" at the top of the workunit info is also not a good sign (http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=8587226).

Today I got 3 of these "Zombie EU" WU. All failed downloading. Hope I get lucky and get a working WU.

I'll change "Only after computer has been idle for" to 0 minutes, it was on 3.00mins.
{not entirely sure what this latter setting actually means or really remember why it was on 3.00}

If you have selected "while computer is in use", the setting doesn't matter.

... but just wondered if CPDN couldn't email all active accounts with a gentle reminder that lots of tasks are awaiting their attention.

An all-active-CPDN-email-accounts message was tried years ago. Once. Oxford found itself listed as a spammer; university IT department folks, and higher, were not pleased. Be very surprised if CPDN staff ever tries it again.

I don't know how it works from the project side, but they could try using the BOINC Notices tab...
I also think that the project warnings/news posted in the "News and Announcements" thread should appear there.

I seems the upload server of this WU http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=8480442 is not working well. It goes to 100% them it gives the following error:

I've suspended the WU until this uploads well.

PS: From the BOINC files the upload server is http://cpdn-upload2.oerc.ox.ac.uk

49) Message boards : Number crunching : Prevent BOINC requesting GPU work ? (Message 45076)

Thanks. I've now excluded all projects I have that don't have updated server code.
50) Message boards : Number crunching : Prevent BOINC requesting GPU work ? (Message 45071)
Posted 12 Oct 2012 by Professor Desty Nova
Post:
There are projects that don't have GPU work, but indicate that they don't have GPU work to the BOINC client (they must have a newer server code). You can see this in the project properties, scheduling section as "Don't fetch work for ATI/NVIDIA GPU -> Project has no apps for ATI/NVIDIA GPU".

I would also like to know how to do this manually for projects that don't upgrade their server code.
51) Questions and Answers : Wish list : Using GPUs for number crunching (Message 44790)
Posted 1 Sep 2012 by Professor Desty Nova
Post:
Since Climateprediction doesn't use GPUs, they could tweak/update the server code so newer BOINC clients aren't always asking for GPU work like this:

01/09/2012 10:24:48 | climateprediction.net | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
01/09/2012 10:24:48 | climateprediction.net | Requesting new tasks for ATI
01/09/2012 10:24:50 | climateprediction.net | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
01/09/2012 10:24:50 | climateprediction.net | No work sent

Some of the projects I run have on the "proprieties of Projects" in the BOINC client, "Project have no apps for ATI GPU", and these don't ask for work for the GPU.

Thanks for that. In that case, could you try this?

Your account / climateprediction.net preferences / Add seperate preferences for home (at the bottom) / Then tick HadSM3 and leave the others unticked. Save.

It didn\'t make a diference.

Then maybe in the climateprediction.net preferences something like this:

Prefer this type of model
Requires 1.5GB RAM minimum
[ignore messsage from server if not selected]

I can remove this message from the scheduler if it would help.
But this would apply in all situations.

Would it not be possible to modify the message to \"Your computer has 1023.53MB of memory. Please ensure your preference settings exlude HADAM3 type jobs which require 1464.84MB\"

F.

Or:

\"Your computer has 1023.53MB of memory, and a job requires 1464.84MB (only applies to HADAM3)\"
