I guess the recent server problems caused this... Completed task that appears as not completed.

2) Message boards : Number crunching : Credit Status (Message 57311)

Post:

The reason that all of the credits are gone and you need to reregister is a new law that recently went into effect. Your account was dormant for nearly 10 and the new law mandates that after a certain amount of time all personal info, such as accounts, user names and passwords have to be erased from the servers. Your user account was beyond the deadline so it and presumably the credits that went with it have been erased. I don’t know if it is possible get them back.
The scientific work that you did for the project is still safely stored and available to the climate scientists.

Deadline on Boinc project? It must be joke.
https://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/user/detail/914/projectList
I have all credits from retired projects. So why active project remove accounts, credits? I will never participate in this project again without credits back. It is better to crunch Bitcoin.

Since CPDN is from UK, they have to comply with UK law, and now, apparently the law mandates that they have to delete inactive accounts. It's a bit stupid, we aren't giving CPDN any crucial info.

This was in the news thread last month:
From Andy at CPDN staff:

To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, we are required to only keep personal data for as long as it is absolutely necessary. We will therefore only keep records of inactive volunteers for three years from now on. Initially any records inactive since 2014 or before that date will be removed. We will continue to remove records that have been inactive for three years or more on an ongoing basis.
Therefore anyone who signed up prior to this and has been inactive for over three years but wishes to renew their engagement will need to set up a new account. If you have been inactive for the last couple of years and wish us to retain your email and username, please reactivate your account as soon as possible.

Project credits from these accounts will be retained but will no longer be linked to an email address or username.

Current, active, volunteers, or those who have been active in the last three years, will not be affected by this policy.

For the last WU that I run (HadCM3 short v8.29) only the first trickle appears. So I only received credit for that first trickle. Do other people see the same? I hope those trickles appear someday...

The WU that I was talking about (UK Met Office HadCM3 short v8.29) ended and reported OK, but only the first trickle appears. Now that the credit script has run, I'm only seeing the credit from the first trickle :-(

The last three WU I run were wah2, and all the trickles appeared without problem, after problems when I was running a wah2. Now it seems it returner for the "HadCM3 short". Only the first trickle appears. Like Byron Leigh Hatch has just reported for his "HadCM3 short".

And a few weeks ago when the trickles were missing, I had a WU that finished and reported with an OK from the servers (on the BOINC Manager Log), but stills shows as in progress... At least now all the trickles appear.

It seems they found the missing trickles. Now they have to find the missing reporting logs.

The server said everything was OK, but the WU still is shown as "In Progress".

So, the link to the trickles page really disappeared in the new look. Before my earlier post, I searched and searched, because I remembered that a link existed in the old site.
As I wrote in my earlier post, now it seems that the reporting of finished WU got lost somewhere. This WU has finished and reported, now has all the trickles appearing, but it still shows as "in Progress".

It seems trickles are up to date, now to correct finished and reported tasks that still appear as "in progress"...

EDIT: Is there a limit to the shown trickles? It seems the reported task that still appears as "in progress" only shows 20, and the last zip is number 25...

And I can't update the ClimatePrediction.net preferences (Preferences for this project: climateprediction.net preferences)

:-(

PS: Maybe it's the same problem preventing people from posting new threads?

An Update.
After posting, I tried changing the "Community preferences" from "In a single daily email" to "Immediately, by email", and I just received a notification from this thread. So it works if using "Immediately, by email".

I'm going to switch back to "In a single daily email", and see what happens.

Another update.
With "In a single daily email" in "Community preferences" checked, I didn't receive any e-mail when subscribed threads have new posts. Changed back to "Immediately, by email".
So it seems that "In a single daily email" is broken.

Perhaps worth putting it in the announcements for those who monitor that thread. I know most of those will spot this but there may be a few........

I don't know since when, but subscribing a thread doesn't send an e-mail notification anymore...

So, if it is like this for everybody, no one is receiving notifications of news in the announcements thread by e-mail.

Both WU were generated today at "29 Nov 2015 17:01:xx UTC", model name "wah2_eu25_k4...". More than one batch?

PS: I'm running a new wah2 application 7.08. Now I see there are two "Weather At Home 2 (wah2)" listed in the application page with different version numbers. If they are different maybe they should have differentiated them...

I just received two WU, and I don't have "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" checked. Either they rectified something, or there is a mix of applications.

Finished the AFR WU from Nov 13 without a problem.
I've now picked another AFR WU from Nov 13. This one crashed on another computer with a "Model crashed: REPLANCA: PP HEADERS ON ANCILLARY FILE DO NOT MATCH" when it was almost finished. Let's see if I can finish it :-)

PS: Does the server choose computers with a good track record to send models that already crashed, or is it random? It's not the first time I finish models that crash in other computers. Or am I just "lucky" to receive a resent model with 12000 computers looking for work?

Yes, they are the test batch. (There are actually 3 separate test batches.)

If you see anything odd happen to one of them, please post about it.
Even things like the percentage progress being way out compared to the amount of time run, or the zips gradually increasing in size as it progresses, etc.

Is there another way of controlling the size of the zip uploads other than going to the client_state.xml file?

And since it's weekend...

Good thing that I managed to catch one of those AFR WU (test?). It's around ~13%. Hope it finishes without a problem.
