Hi Carl,
Saw the posts about CPDN now running on Boinc on win 98se, and thought I'd give it a go with the first of 4 machines I'd like to move over from classic. It's been running for two days now, but I have seen no trickles added to the stats even though its connected 24/7.
Model appears to be running ok (no crashes or the like), and I don't see any messages refering to comunication, could there something wrong? or should I leave it a bit longer?
My xp machine running same prefs would have trickeled several times by now.

Colin

Job status still downloading even on new model after a hour or so, (I may still be on dial-up out here in the sticks of Rochester but this is ridiculas)it is a completely new download as well.

below latest messages after I told it to update, but they are the only requests for server contact and they appear to be to be successful?

Hi Andrew,

Well, it's like this............ got home tonight and computer was acting like a slug, when I got the boinc window up, still 0% work done dispite running 24/7 for 3 days now, work window reported model status as downloading??? I did look at message window but I'm afraid bionc attempt 1 had to go as my pc was taking 3-4 min to open any window, and I only read your post after I dumped it sorry I cannot remember all the messages there, but I saw nothing about not being able to contact server.

Unloaded boinc and all fine now, so here goes I'll try again

BTW I can't get my computer to remember my logon name even though box is ticked

Right thanks for that everyone, I think I now know where I'm going with all this, I'll carry on with classic on 3 98's re-set the other XP back to classic and carry on playing with the one xp that has already started BOINC and see if it does anything!

B.T.W. Just re read my first post and I will right out 100 times,
BOINC BOINC BOINC BOINC BOINC...............
Spelling was never a strong point of mine.
stupid name anyway! I thought my BIONIC was better.

When the classic runs finished neither of the XP machines would download a new model, both gave a message that they could not contact the server (at different times) this message appeared as a pop up box that would not go away for more than a few seconds until I uninstalled CP classic (in desparation so that I could use the PC)

Up until now I have been running 5 pc for CP using the classic model, and now 2 with xp have errored at the end of running models and requested that I move over to Bionic models and would not carry on.
The other 3 pc\'s use 98, do I lose their stats as I will have to carry on with the classic modeling?
I have created an account and downloaded a model on 1 xp pc, but noting much seems to be hapening.
Also none of my stats from classic have moved over dispite it being 3 days now, (i was in the top 200 on classic) even though I did use the option to link my user names.
and what would hapen to the team that I created with 5 members, do their stats move over too? as I cannot even see my old team in Bionic.
Thanks for any input
Colin
