Thanks for the suggestions.

I actually reinstalled the machine. Likely some fidgeting with the scheudling mechanisms would have also done, but that way was easier.

I have an Asus M3A AM2+ Mainboard with newest Bios ( End of October but none newer in sigth yet ) and a X1300 Graphics card.

So nothing really fancy.

Before, the machine had an Abit NF7-S2G Socket A mainboard with a NVidia 5200 graphics card, an Athlon XP 2700+ CPU and dual channel DDR-RAM.

Right now I am up from 142 Watt consumtion to 175 Watt, but that includes the switch from the 5200 to the x1300, the latter seems to draw some 28 to 32 Watt of power compared to an on-board Graphics card.

Still have to enable 3D acceleration. The fidgeting with the driver was the root cause for the problem in the first place.

Cheers

Peter

Hi,

I upgraded my single core machine to 4 core swapping the mainboard and graphics card alongside the CPU swap.

For one day the PC computed the old WU and 3 new ones. Today after I updated the graphics driver only one WU keeps running and the other 3 are staying in \"Waiting to run\" state.

Preferences are set to use 8 CPUs on a multicore machine.

Anyone experience similar stuff?

Cheers

Peter
