Which files can be deleted?
(Message 34430)
Posted 30 Jul 2008 by old_user17536 Post: Hi there, I am trying to free up some space on my machine (running Windows XP). Below the following folder C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\projects\\climateprediction.net\\ there are 5 folders; 2 with names hadcm3istd_*, 2 with hadcm3lbm_*, and 1 with name hadsm3fub_julf_005957782. The first 4 are all between 400-500MB. Looking at the BOINC Manager messages tab, I see the following message: 2008.Jul.30 9:35:46 AM|climateprediction.net|Restarting task hadsm3fub_julf_005957782_9 using hadsm3 version 506 Assuming this corresponds to the last folder mentioned, I am guessing I can\'t touch that. Are those first 4 folders active? Can I delete them? Can I be sure their data been uploaded to ClimatePrediction before I delete them? Thanks in advance, David |

Urgent - Rebuilding PC...how to save files & resume?

Posted 23 Nov 2006 by old_user17536 Post: Hi there, I need to rebuild my laptop in the next 24 hours. I don\'t want to lose the months of processing and the BOINC files. Ideally, I am hoping someone can tell me the exact files that need to be archived, where I can then reformat my C-drive, reinstall BOINC, and then drop in my old files to resume processing. Thanks in advance, David |
