Hi,

For a week I have not been able to upload a finished wu. The upload fails with the following error message:

Sun Jan 17 14:05:34 2010 climateprediction.net Started upload of hadsm3fub_k6hr_006465593_7_2.zip
Sun Jan 17 14:05:37 2010 climateprediction.net Project file upload handler is missing
Sun Jan 17 14:05:37 2010 climateprediction.net Backing off 1 hr 8 min 43 sec on upload of hadsm3fub_k6hr_006465593_7_2.zip

Anyone knows what can cause this and how it can be fixed?

Regards Kjell

Hi,

That helped, my credit is now 612 474.
Up 30 000 instead of down 10 000 :-)

Hi,

From http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=170682
is looks like I have lost appoximately 10 000 credits the last 24 hours.

The page lists my current credits as 583 071, but on the list of all my projects its listed as 594 016. My local boinc manager cliet shows a similar drop in credits.

How can this happen?
Is it related to the outage during the weekend?

Hi,

Looks like I have lost approx. 10 000 credits last 24 hours according to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=170682

There it is listed that I currently have a credit of 583071 points, but in the list of all my projects just below on the same page my credit is listed as 594016 points. My local boincmanager shows a similar drop in credits.

Has this something to do with the outage a few days ago?

Do you know what the correct URL is?

The correct URL is climateprediction.net

From your posts it looks like you\'re attached to \"www.climateprediction.net.\", which isn\'t an alternative URL that the program caters for. If you send me a PM (same user name) on the phpBB forum with your email address I\'ll send you a modified version.

Thanks, but I just detached and reattached to the project and this solved my problem, but killed my 30% finished work units on both machines running CPDN

Well, the file account_www.climateprediction.net..xml shouldn\'t have 2 dots: it should be account_www.climateprediction.net.xml
Perhaps you can try to rename it and run the little program again.

I have the following URL in several files
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi

Do you know what the correct URL is?

This did not help.
Running strace on cpdn_fix_xml_linux shows that it is tries to open the following files.

munmap(0x55556000, 172890) = 0
access(\"account_climateprediction.net.xml\", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access(\"account_climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk_cpdnboinc.xml\", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access(\"account_www.climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk_cpdnboinc.xml\", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access(\"account_www.climateprediction.net.xml\", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
exit_group(0) = ?

None of thes is found in my installation.
The closest I come is a file called account_www.climateprediction.net..xml

It has the following content:

Hi,

I have started to get the following messages when my CPDN client tries to connect to the project. I get the same on both machines running CPDN.

Anyone know what this mean?

9) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : Problem with the latest CPDN models (Message 22293)
Posted 22 Apr 2006 by old_user170682
Post:
Try a re-boot.

There are SUPPOSED to be a lot of files on the disk. That\'s where it\'s creating the 3D model of the Earth\'s atmosphere.

Well that is ok, but I assume 300 MB of files from a model that just had been running for an hour is of limited value for anybody.

But this does not answer my original question. Why does the CPDN process die with a signal 11 when I press the Show graphics button in Boincmgr. This has worked before.

Kjell Randa

An update to my observations:

The CPDN programs reported dead is still running on my machine.
Both the two that Boincmgr reported dead and my current run.

Stopping boinc does not stop these two processes and they have to be killed at OS level and they leave behind a lot of files on disk.

What a mess.

Hi,

Pressing the Show graphics buttons twice will kill the running CPDN modell.
On first press the graphics window is up for a split second, pressing the button once more and the hodel dies.

This is on FC4 with on a AMD dual core system.

Is this a known problem?

12) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : Error message (Message 21161)

Please read the sticky at the top of this forum. It describes the problems with Linux sulphur version 4.23. You crashed in about exactly the spot that others with that version of Linux sulphur are crashing. You will note in the sticky, that a user has provided instructions for \"downgrading\" to sulphur 4.21 (once another 4.23 model has downloaded), which should be much more stable, but it\'s up to you if you want to try that. If not, your next model will crash after about 10 trickles.

Anyone know when this will be fixed?
