[quote]Sometimes the Boinc screensaver will crash (and kill the model with it), and similarly if it\'s a third party screensaver which uses all CPU time, then that could also (potentially) cause a crash.

It would be worthwhile disabling it for a day or two just to see if that makes a difference. [/quote

The BOINC screensaver often causes problems for you- unable to maintain contact- How can I disable your screensaver. Thanks.

Mike- thanks for your response. Mine is a private PC, the \'technician\' is just a local \'PC Fixer\'- my memory is a 256Mb DDR PC2100. Can you advise reasonable total memory for my m/c to handle Climate Change 24hrs./day running; my usual usage would be about 3hs/day, sometimes more.Bruce.

hi,

it is a wish to boinc.

some of my running mashines are at work.
they are P4 wit HT enabled.
but due better working and more acceptance it runs only one model per machine.

is it possible to manage, that boinc let automatic a second model run in a configurable time?

for excample:
the server runs 24/7. monday to friday from 7 to 17 o\'clock it get quite hi cpu-load from the server\'s applications. in the other time it is rather ideling.

one CP-Model runs this 24/7 ans the overal-cpuload is 70-80% (50 by Boinc, rest by server-applications)
in case, it seems to a user, that theserver ist quite slow, he looks at the cpu-load and get the 80% - ok, he says, it is cpu-load left, the slowness is\'n made by cpu-overload.

because of this, it is not realy good, to let two models run, because the second model at the virtual CPU will cause 50% more \"virtual\" CPU-load.
It is not possible, that I switch the second process off an on by hand.

I want, that (for excample) from 7 to 17 o\'clock the second model is switched off.
how can I (or you, guys) manage that by preferences?

greets, micha
