3) Message boards : Number crunching : lost trickle (Message 20280)

I am running a sulphur dedicated on my laptop. it was at 54.5% done yesterday after 957 hours. I manually shutdown BOINC and started it (message to send up trickle went fine, and credit has showed on website). However, last night my notebook locked up I had to restart. received a message about bad exit and cpdn restarting. if happend again work unit might be bad.

when I checked the % it was back to 53.33%. I guess it restarted a previous checkpoint. (not sure why not at 54.17% trickle since I it sent that up and I got credit).

question is: will I get another credit at 54.17% again? am bummed since I have to redo 18 hours (18hours/trickle average).

curious....

I have tried this link from \"My Account\" webpage. I always get an error. can you help explain? I successfully use similar link for other BOINC projects (LHC, Seti, Einstein, Predictor, STAKI).

Thanks

I have changed by Climate prediction defaults to be \"smooth\" and to remember camera. However, it always starts over africa (not us, my preferred) and temperature not the smooth cloud view.

what am I setting wrong?

I had a WU about 5% done (>77 hours). However, I just noticed that my CPDN work unit is a brand new one. Old one was due 10/2006 this one is 11/2006. Not sure why it did not finish. I am only running LHC and CPDN with 100 share (50% each).

The message log did not show anything. I upgraded to 5.2.12 this morning. any ideas?

Are you running BOINC as a service? If so you\'ll have to change it to login using the Local System account and allow interaction with the desktop. Full instructions are in the BOINC Wiki.

Running has single user on Win XP. upgraded to BOINC 5.2.12 and still have problem.

running sulphur experiment, BOINC 5.2.7 on windows xp. I can allow the screensaver to kick in and it works. however, if I stop the screensaver, the next time it kicks in, I only the the generic boinc logo and %complete not the beautiful planet view. This also happens if I do the \"show graphics\" option. it worked once then the second time the \"show graphics\" button is grayed out. I am running multiple projects, but CPDN is the one running.

any ideas?
