No, most of them look like this:

climateprediction.net/1x4m_100110504/dataout/1x4mba.pf26c10

about 7MB apiece, some only 2MB and some up to 8.
And there are some files with *.nc extension, about 2 MB each.

Well, I'm way above 700 MB. Space is not the real problem - just wondered if everything was running properly. As long as I'm not running out of disk space I'll leav the files where they are then.

Hi everybody,

I'm using core client 4.19 on SuSE Linux 9.2 (kernel 2.6.8-24-default).

My dataout folder contains lots of files with names like1x4maa.pa22c10.x1.nc and sizes between 2 and 6 MB. The whole folder is about 2 GB.

Something seems to be wrong here - it certainly can't be normal that the _out_ folder contains hundreds of files. Shouldn't they be purged after processing or whenever results are uploaded?

Apart from this, everything seems to be running OK.

Any suggestions?

TIA

4) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : moving to other directory (Message 11332)

Hi there, I've been using the core client 4.19 for Linux and recently 4.27. Im halfway through my first WU now (55% in 6 months).

I've found out that running the core client for Windows on Wine/Linux is much faster than the native core client for Linux itself. I intend to move the work I've finished so far into a new directory to complete it in a faster environment.

How can I make the new installation continue where the old one stopped? I do not dare just to copy the Windows core client into my old BOINC root directory beacause I don't want to risk corruption of my work. Backing up the old directory is a bit troublesome because of its size (2.6 GB, which is more than my tape can handle).

Simply copying the climateprediction directory and state files into the new installation and then let the core client install the Windows binaries in it did not work. The new installation downloaded a new work unit and startet to run this. The older work is not continued.

Any ideas what to do?

TIA
Matthias
