The 2050 displayed on the graphics is incorrect, it should read 2065. There are three phases, each of 259280 timesteps, so you observed the transition from phase 2 to phase 3.

For some general background information about the different types of models, see the \'README - running the model\', first two posts in the \'information\' section. The link to the readmes is in my signature.

Do you have the screensaver turned on? It may help to turn off the screensaver (use the \'show graphics\' button instead)

Thx for this extensive information.
It heled me to understand a little bit more.

I dont´t run BOINC in screensaver-mode only as background-application with using \'show graphics\' to view graphics)

Your answr calmed me down, because i have lost som units in the past which where not repairable because of fortran-error.

the case:
yesterday when i left my office my workunit hadsm3fub_0205_005913780_0 had finished about 66 to 67%. Modeldate was around: 1830/1835 proposed ending should be 2050 on timeline.
Duuring the night i´ve got a visual-fortran runtime error.
Restarting the model this morning, my workunit shows me 17th January 2051, still about 67% and timestep 2200 of 259000.
What has happend there? My workunit jumped out of proposed timeline.
Is my work unit destrucetd yet or is it a normal behaviour.

I hope anybody can declare what has happened.

Greetings from center of europe.

P.S.: another older workunit on my pc went through timeline and model-work-percentage more even.

The fortran-runtime error appears on my system too after one data unit - which finished about 28% finished because of mathematical error - some days ago. for the last 5 days boinc downloade new units, each one runs without failure for about one and a half cpu-hour. after fortran-error appears first in one unit the only possibilty for me was to cancel the project, cancel this unit and restart the project. but the next unit will also run for about 90 minutes cpu-time.
so my decision was to cancel climateprediction.net totally and let my computer only work for seti. Sorry.
I hope this fortran error will be fixed ASAP, i´ll share my computer (no other problems with this machine) for climateprediction.net again.

Thanks for your response PoohBear.

WPE: The error you get is a -3. IIRC this is a permissions problem. Are you installing as administrator than logging in as a user and running it? You will need to give read/write permissions to the program files/boinc folder and sub folders. Or install as a Service.

Unlikely i installed and i´m running BOINC both on Administration-Level.
This failure didn´t happen as Program-Version 5.08 was running. It first appeared when 5.15 started computing on my computer.
This prolem doesn´t appear when i let BOINC run this unit \'in silence\' it will crash when i click on \'display graphics\' (Grafik anzeigen).
The model each time starts in grid-look without rotating. When i try to show clouds or to start rotating, climaetprediction crashes.

Since my computer was ugraded from 5.08 to 5.15, climateprediction-application crashes while starting the graphical interface. Error-message:
Unrecoverable error for result hadcm3pbb_bpdd_05820172_0 (Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden. (0x3) - exit code 3 (0x3))
(System can´t find the givenpath)

Afterwards it stops running this data unit and starts downloading another one before restart.
Also since running 5.15 the graphical model looks worse than 5.08 during clouds-layer is on. It allways shows me the dark side of earth enveloped in somecopies of itself.
I take use of BOINC I´m not running the classic interface on my machine
7) Questions and Answers : Windows : CPDN doesnt free disk-space and doesn´t request new work (Message 23791)

Yesterday CPDN finished work:
28.07.2006 18:44:03|climateprediction.net|Computation for task sulphur_iz3h_200885293_1 finished

But:
1. CPDN doesn´t request new work yet
2. CPDN allways takes 1 GB disk-space. 2 Directories sulphur_i9m3_200852267 and sulphur_iz3h_200885293
require 970 MB.

Should i delet these folders?
When will my client request new workk?

Hi there,
im member since Dec. 2005 and this project takes use of very much diskspace.
I had some problems with this project and my computer at the beginning of my work.
Now this computer is registered with 4 different IDs (341606, 311350, 309544,307877)i have a hunch that this situation is responsible for taking use of about 1.3 GB as well.
In my Boinc->climateprediction.net subdirectory i can find 4 subdirectories: sulphur_h82o_100803616, sulphur_i4kx_200845745,sulphur_i9m3_200852267, sulphur_j0y0_000887688) j0y0 and h82o: each of them takes use of about 473 mb, i4kx: 163 mb i9m3: 263 mb

can anybodey tell me if i can delete some of these directories without loosing results?
is one (or more) of directories result of older work-units which where not finished by this machine (because they where corrupt).
10) Questions and Answers : Windows : Screensaver freezes PC (Message 19028)

thanks for your fast reaction.
On a desktop, via it\'s properties, go to screensave tab and choose None (or Blank screen).
It seems that you set BOINC as a default screen-saver during installation process.

Sorry, i think i didn´t expressed myself correctly.
I don´t like to disable the BOINC-Screensaver complete, i only like to disable Climateprediction.net part of it if the error isn´t repairable by another way.
This night, my computer didn´t switch to Seti (because Seti is down, could nt be contacted) and i was able to revoke my computer frm running Climateprediction.net-screensaver (we can deduce, therefore, that the sitch from one project to another during screensaver-session seems to be the killer.

(did i say protection before? what a joke *rofl* and how to protect against clima??)

I´m running climateprotection and Seti on the same machine. Both take 50% of time. Unlikely sometimes in the morning my computer will show me a frozen screen of climateprotection which forces me to reboot/reset my PC.
It is not possible to reboot using keyboard or stop the visualisation of climateprotection.net.
After reboot, BOINC shows me SETI as active, climateprotection as displaced. I think climateprotection freezes the screen during the night at this time when SETI displaces it.
Is it possible to disable climateprotection Screensaver-function without disable climateprotection too??
