I\'ve just downloaded the most recent which was released at Christmas, version 8.1.9.8. I\'ll see if this make a difference.Kim

Good luck. I\'m running with 45.33 on two of my computers without problem (old GF2 MX video cards), but never tried 45.23.

Well this version of the Driver is definitly better. It doesn\'t seem to hang or give the stop start display of before. Its amasing what 6 mth can provide :-)

I have a Gforce4 Ti 4200 Graphics card with 64 Mbs memory. Sounds like a need a grunty card with lots of Memory ?

No, that should be quite good. What driver version are you running?

The driver is dated 28/7/03, version 4.5.2.3 from NVIDIA. If I remember correctly I downloaded this driver from NVIDIA about 6 mths ago.

The screensaver is the BIONIC Climate S/Saver. I\'ve disabled it now and this seems to have stopped the problem. However, I would like to run it if at all possible as it is informative.

Depending on what type of video card chipset your system has, the visualization can take anywhere from less than 30 (for a decent nvidia type card) to 95 percent of your CPU time. So it\'s really not a good idea to run it. But if you are going to, it\'s possible that updating your video card drivers might decrease the amount CPU percent the visualization takes (once again, depending on what type of video card you have).

What screensaver, if any, are you running. Are there any processes scheduled to run overnight, such as AV scan of hard drive, or defrag?

My PC application are becoming slower to open up, and when closing down Windows (shut Off) the applications take for ever to close. Generally I\'m forced to close them when the window comes up to manually shut down each appplication . The PC seems to be asleep between operations.

If I kill Bionic before it starts work, ie. close it down, my PC runs normally. So its something Bionic is doing.

I\'m running ThreadMaster and have allocated 50% to the Climate app and 10% to Einstin which leaves me some resources to run anything else. I do have a lot of SysTray apps alive (and never had a problem in the past), and Task Manager says they impact very little on CPU usage. Page Usage is about 300Mb average.

Normally the problem manifests itself over night when its running by itself without interuption. In the morning its all but locked up.

The PC is not connected all the time to the Internet.

The PC is a WinXP SP2 and BIONIC ver 5.2.13

Any suggestions?

Kim

The problem I had with Bionc bit-slicing my programs got so bad that I uninstalled Bionc and the ThreatMaster and reinstalled, and guess what, Bionc seems to now be running OK, and only utilising 10% as per the TreatMaster app.

Another question though:

As a new work unit is downloaded and then run, will it have a different Process name under the Task Manager? And if this is the case does this mean that I have to continually enter a new name into the Registry and delete the old one?

> Where do you find threadmaster ?

There\'s a link in Add-ons, in the blue menu to the left.

OK After implementing the threadmaster, my system seems to bit-slice other applications, ie. stops and starts them, and also slow to start applications up. An example is when playing a DVD the picture stops and starts, even though the process shows 10 utilisation under Task Manager. Stop Bonic app. and all rus OK again.

any solution
