The server was under maintainance yesterday. ok now.

Sorry to contradict you, but the graphs are still not available:

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hm, a new design at the account page. Nice. (Especially the direct links to statistic pages!)

Unfortunately I still cannot see the graphs of my finished sulphur model here --> would be interesting to see, because it showed some strange behaveour at some phases...

And still the trickles are lagging behind...

But I want to stop complaining around, the models are working very fine on my machines, and weekend is coming.

I\'m behind severly. My RAC was around 1800 when everything was running ok. Now by Friday, I\'ll probably be under 1000. :(

There are also some trickles missing at my results. Personally I suspend network activity (but not my models of course) and do not let my trickles to be uploaded. I will wait until everything works fine (I\'m convinced it will!), and then let slowly (e.g. after an \'extra day\') trickle my models again. Perhaps this helps to reduce the amount of data the new server has to catch up... - And of course it doesn\'t help at all if I\'m the only one who does this...

The bad news:
Sulphur is now obsolete, as the project has moved on.
Sulphur models were a short, temporary, (4-5 month) project to get sulphate data for the start of the new models, TCM.

Hi Les,

What do you mean exactly by \"obsolete\"? My sulphur model on my AMD64 3000+ will finish this week, but I\'ve got an other model running on my Athlon XP 1700+ at a progress of 57% done (almost end of phase 3) and is remaining approx. 1200h (approx. 6,89 s/TS).
Would you suggest to abort that model? It would somehow break my heart after 1414h of crunching without any problems... What scientistic value (if any??) would the final result have?

I\'m confused a bit...

(BTW: I know this is the wrong topic in the wrong forum, but your last post meets my interest)

You have to know \"how\" to look.
It was \"the old: exit code 99\", a Killer trickle.

When you go to the model page, you need to fiddle with the url window on the browser. Replace show_host_detail with result
Then you can see the old style results page.

Les, I don\'t know how much I should thank you for this tip! (Next time you are in Austria I\'ll invite you! There we can go to the Vienna zoo and watch kangaroos ;-) )
And I was already concerned were all those valuable trickle information had gone...

Just one comment: If you have the \"Results\"-page for i.e. http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/graph_cm3.php?resultid=5093483 , you have to replace graph_cm3 with [b]results[/] , then it worked for me. Why isn\'t there a link at the results-page to trickle information (as it was with slab and sulphur)?

Personally, I updated manually, but I didn\'t receive these killer trickles, perhaps due to the fact that my model has nothing to report. I\'m in April, and it feels strange to know that currently my Model calculation is useless for this day, until it reaches 1st of December...

Update:
Right now my Model crashed with exit code 99 (yeah!), although no trickle has been transmitted (as far as I can see from my message tab); So it seems, that a manual update of the project also works - at least for me. Good to know!

Thanks for quick reply, I guess, Carls fingers are almost \"glowing\" now...

I guess, especially next week - after vacations - the forum will be flooded with requests like this...

So, back to the future! (of 1920) (?)

Hi,
Please read this important note: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=4697
So, don\'t use your backup and download the new models

Hi!
I\'ve heard about this \"killer trickles\" sent out automatically. May I also force these trickles to receive, i.e. via the update-Button, or do I have to wait until my Model reaches the next trickle point at 1st of December?

Personally, I updated manually, but I didn\'t receive these killer trickles, perhaps due to the fact that my model has nothing to report. I\'m in April, and it feels strange to know that currently my Model calculation is useless for this day, until it reaches 1st of December...

Are ALL \"old\" hadcm3lb-Models affected? When are trickles sent exactly? (Sometimes it took much longer than 1st of December to report...)

Questions, questions...

Thanks for your \"honesty\"!

If you are concerned about shutdown the BOINC-service safely when shutting down Windows, then you could force Windows to close this service explicitly when shutting down Windows via a script.

The following instruction how to do this was found here.

*open up notepad and enter the following

    net stop boinc

  • then save it to your desktop with the file name \"Stop BOINC.bat\" (the bat extension is essential)

  • close notepad

  • run

    gpedit.msc

(from a command prompt, or by clicking start, run, entering it, then clicking ok)

  • navigate to \"Local Computer Policy\\Computer Configuration\\Windows Settings\\Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)\"

  • open up the \"shutdown\" one (in the panel on the right)

  • click \"show files\"

  • move the \"stop boinc.bat\" file from you desktop (the one you made earlier) to this folder (you may need to minimise the \"group policy\" window

  • close the window (that opened from clicking \"show files\") showing the folder where you\'ve just moved \"stop boinc.bat\" to (the window title should be \"shutdown\")

  • back in the \"shutdown properties\" box (opened from group policy) click \"add\"

  • click browse

  • the contents of the \"shutdown\" folder should be displayed, add the \"stop boinc.bat\" file that you moved into that folder by clicking the file, then clicking \"open\"

  • in the \"Add a script\" box click \"ok\"

  • in the \"Shutdown properties\" box click \"ok\"

  • exit \"group policy\"

now windows will stop boinc automatically everytime you shutdown/restart your computer, no need to worry about loosing anything now

NOTE: this only applies if you have BOINC installed as a service, if you have a single user or shared install then you\'ll have to come up with your own way of stopping boinc, although i *think* windows handles things if BOINC isn\'t running as a service (should exit when you log off)

I did this and it works really fine for me.

P.S.: This message board should have a preview function (for the BBCode tags)... :-/

I threw out as much as possible, using the DOS-box and the del *.* command. About 1.000 files, using 360 MB could not be deleted, but I can live with that.

Thats\'s one of the reasons why I don\'t use Norton any more... :-/
But as far as I can remember, by right-clicking the Recycle Bin, there should be an option (from Norton) to permanently deleting the files stored by Norton Recycle Bin. Maybe there\'s also an option for that in the Norton GUI.

@ Carl: Won\'t it be possible to save a completed WU anymore for upcoming private analyse (or for grandchilds)?
