BOINC (Linux) in a chroot?
(Message 5608)
Posted 24 Oct 2004 by old_user1153 Post: I'm converting my Athlon 64 Linux boxes to "real" x86-64 systems. Since CPDN isn't available for AMD64, I think about chrooting into an x86 system on another partition and run BOINC from there, using IA-32 emulation. Has anybody ever done that, does it work this way? <i>"You trade my tuna fish? For what?" - "Good stuff."</i> |

Am I the only slow one?

To share workunits between different OS is not possible with BOINC either. BOINC is even more "complicated" than Seti@home in that it tracks lots more information about who is processing what workunit. You can't even move a workunit between two PCs, which was possible in Seti@home. |

Save progress more often?
(Message 1724)
Posted 26 Aug 2004 by old_user1153 Post: I noticed that CPDN saves its current progress about every 30 minutes. Is this somehow configurable to, say, 5 minutes? Since my computers don\'t run all day, this would give me a better feeling. |
