1) Questions and Answers : Macintosh : Computational problems on suspend (Message 16899) Posted 31 Oct 2005 by old_user105024 Post: Hi, When leaving Einstein@Home I told it not to receive new units, and I started the Climate DC project. I don\'t know how Boinc manager distributes the processing power, but those last two units of Einstein@Home didn\'t get any processing power. Now, I do want to turn in the units I receive, so I told Climate suspend, so these units could finish. Upon this suspension both Climate units (I\'m on dual processor) reported a computational error and (after finishing the einstein units) started anew (I didn\'t reach the first trickle, if that info is important). I don\'t think that is very elegant: Climate should be able to handle a suspend graciously. Also, it should continue where it was stopped (not at the point of the last trickle). Bert Who also suffered from the lack of warning that an additional piece of software was needed. PowerMac 1 GHz Dual processor; Boincmanager version 4.43. Tiger 10.4.2.
2) Questions and Answers : Macintosh : Preferences Greyed out (Message 16898) Posted 31 Oct 2005 by old_user105024 Post: That is the correct answer, but not very intuitive. I think it would be quite easy to get the Preferences menu item from the File menu to link to this page where you can set things. Now we\'re puzzled and keep looking elsewhere for a solution.
