Model crashes
(Message 33647)
Posted 1 May 2008 by old_user1041 Post: Thanks for the answer and the links mo.v. I never overclock PC\'s that are running Boinc, so that can not be the problem here. Unfortunately I stopped making regular backups when I stopped running Climate Prediction for some time and later only downloaded the shorter-running models. May be I have to start backing up again. :-) This is the only computer that is running 6.x, partly because sometimes I do some alpha testing indeed, partly because 5.x is blocked at Vista startup (although there seems to be a work around for that) because it asks for admin rights. For now I don\'t expect 6.16 to cause any problems. Boinc is not installed in c:\\program files, but on the D drive. Vista seems happy. :-) I will try another model and see what happens. |

Posted 22 Apr 2007 by old_user1041 Post: This was the first server/connection error I had in a long time. When sending the trickles during the last days I never had any connection problems (as far as I know) and despite that they did not show up on the web page. As far as I can see in Boinc all trickles succeeded (except this one time server error, but the next try one minute later was fine), as did the file uploads. :-) |

I use Boinc since the first beta tests years ago, so it takes more to get me worried... ;-) These things will always be solved at some time. The strange thing was I did not see trickles show up, but they did for other users, so it seemed best to report it. At least you\'ll get a *LOT* of credit once all your backdated credits are processed! :-) Can we wait for another week or so to get this solved? It would be a nice personal credits/day record. :-) |

Posted 31 Aug 2004 by old_user1041 Post: I had a look on one of my PC's. The resource share Seti:ClimatePrediction on that one is roughly 66:33% (RAC = 807:147) I noticed Seti is getting 3 hours every time and climate 1 hour. One time during the last day seti got about 20 minutes more. I expected more time for ClimatePrediction then it gets. I've read somewhere on the Seti boards the timeslicing feature in Boinc needs some "polishing". Maybe it still doesn't work exactly as it should?
