Connecting too often

Maybe most users are lucky enough to have always-on Broadband, so the needs of the few of us who can only get dial-up access are likely to be overlooked. Connecting too often
(Message 10392)
Posted 4 Mar 2005 by old_user10128 Post: In my preferences I have stated "connect about every 1 day" - yet it connects far more often than this, in fact many times a day. These frequent dial-ups often interfere with my other work when using the computer. Is there any way to avoid this? |

Teething problems?

Posted 6 Sep 2004 by old_user10128 Post: Win XP(home) Everything seemed to be working fine - I got to just under 1.5% completed. Then, when starting up I got the \"blue screen\" - checking my hard drive. This listed three or four BOINC files and described them as \"invalid\" - and stated that they were being \"truncated\". Since then nothing seems to be happening, and the screen saver says \"no grapics-capable applications are running\". Is the problem at my end or BOINC\'s? And what can I do to get things moving again? |
