Hi I run climateprediction / boinc on a number of windows destops and laptops but for some reason tasks do not download or run on one of the machines. It just says 'no tasks running' for weeks. Any ideas why this may be? Thank you[/b] |

It looks like your computers downloaded all but 1 of their "recent" tasks in mid-July. There really hasn't been any new batches of wah2 tasks released (those that Windows PCs can run), since then. Windows batch availability has been sporadic at best in the last couple years. |

Hi OK Just seems funny tasks are running for the climateprediction module on other pc's I have but I guess it selects the computers that best suit. Thanks for getting back to me |

That's not it at all. Back in mid-July, your Windows PCs downloaded a bunch of tasks when the Windows tasks were available. Two of your PCs are still running some of those tasks. The other (i7 5960X) finished all the tasks that it downloaded back then. https://www.cpdn.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1506486 |

Hi _____________________________ Cross talk or whatever. Penbrice, others are telling you that there are NO Windows tasks available, period. Some of your computers might cache some tasks which they are running. https://www.cpdn.org/server_status.php Go, check the Server Status. No Windows task available. Linux tasks are available and if you are so keen on running tasks. Download Virtual Box from Oracle and run the Linux tasks. For some kind of instructions go to the Linux section of the Message boards. Please don't sound so pathetic or we all might end up crying. |

And it won't be that long before all the Linux ones have gone if we don't get another batch and I haven't seen any hints of more on the way either for main site or for testing branches. |

World Community Grid is running Africa Rainfall Model. Those are GPU tasks. Interesting as to how they are running them on GPU? Collaboration between CPDN and WCG sounds fascinating. They sent two WU to me but I do not know when and how. Sneaky lot. |

They sent two WU to me but I do not know when and how. Sneaky lot. There is no WCG climate model using GPUs. The only current WCG subproject that uses GPUs is OpenPandemic (OPNG). They also run OpenPandemic tasks on CPUs. There has been no beta tests at WCG since the OPNG test that started in the spring. The ARP1 tasks from the WCG climate model are computed on CPUs. |
